You know when you crank the steering, you get a whirring noise from the power steering? my car makes that noise on even slight turns, and it doesn't stop, even if I"m driving in a straight line. Mostly seems to occur on left-hand turns. Is the power steering mechanism on its way out or what? Is there any way I can check it out/fix it myself without too many difficulties? Thanks for the help!

Camppain is right but also check the condition of your belts. They could just be slipping. If that doesn't work look into getting a new PS pump <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
