What extra work would be involved as opposed to a manual-to-manual swap? Assuming of course you had the sr’s stock tranny with it. Would it be hard to find the parts needed?

Buy a clip, you'll have most of the parts needed to do an auto to manual swap.
You'll also need a usdm clutch pedal assemble as the Jspec one mounts differently. With the clip you get the master cylinder, slave, tranny shifter, shift boot and all the little doo dads needed.
