I was thinking of buying a used S14 VLSD but i wanted to take it apart and make sure it was in good condition before putting it in my car, then i remberd that some VLSD's can not be serviced (toyota's) so im just wondering if nissans are able to be taken apart and be serviced.....

Nissan VLSD's are sealed units that don't need servicing and are unlikely to fail before the car does.  All you need to do is get one that fits your car, drain it, and fill it with regular diff fluid.
