Wassup everyone...

Well, I've finally decided to go ahead and get myself a 91240SX.  Of course the first thing I want to do is slap a SR20DET in the engine bay.
I have many many questions, to ask you people about.  I am thinking of doing a wide-body kit, but I don't like the one from France...seen it...ehhh.  Anyone know of any manufacturers that have wide kits?  Also as far as suspension, I DO plan to a lil "DURRIFTINGO" so what set up would yeild the best results?
I live in NJ and noone out here really hooks up 240's the way they should be...so I want to be one of the firsts to really do it right!  HELP ME OUT PEEPS...I'll make you all proud, promise!

Just a lil piece of advice, get ur 240sx and learn the car. Do some reasearch on ur own, there are so many sources out there right in front of u and on this board.

And then come back with more specific questions if u cant find what u need

i tell u this cause there is a lot of info on these subjects here and other places and these types of questions are asked alot

like i said, just my advice...

*sigh*
it's so unfortunate that so many people new to the 240sx already have all these preconceived notions of what they want to do with them... so little appreciate for what the car is, AS IT IS, and so much wanting for what 10G's or so will do.

Ever wonder why there are so many parts available for 240s? so many wrecked ones u can get cheap? Hmm... too many people watching friggin Initial D and trying on their stock car. &nbsp;Drifting alone requires a couple grand if you want the car to do it correctly... and even then it's only going to do what the driver makes it do.

Don't take this as a personal attack, I don't mean for it to be, just be perpared for others to flame the crap out of you like campain says. &nbsp; The number of newbie 240 would-be enthusiasts has skyrocketed since the formerly shadowed greatness that is the nissan S-chassis family has been brought into the spotlight by the ricer mags.

What i'm trying to say is, take your time. &nbsp;Learn the car. &nbsp; Not just driving or handling or anticipation. &nbsp;Gain some experience with it before you start tuning. &nbsp; If you don't take the time to learn your baseline, you've no idea what changes make which differences, and how significant they are. &nbsp;Spend LOTS of time with the car in it's stock form before you go changing things around, otherwise you're just another guy changing countless variables around and having no real-life measurment of what differences those changes incur... don't go by what a magazine tells you, or what someone's brother's friend told you is a way to get an easy 10hp, the only way to figure out how a specific mod will affect your specific car and your driving style, is to learn about it through self-experience.

Best of luck to you as you delve into the S-chassis world.

Cliff Notes:
- better get that fireproof suit on
- LEARN THE CAR FIRST!
- only change 1 thing at a time and LEARN all you can from that change before moving to the next!
- experience, Experience, EXPERIENCE is the single best way to be faster; the car is only as fast as it's driver.
- Welcome, and good luck.

1st- I agree with with Yoshi, first thing you want to do is spend at least 6-8 months spending 2 hours a day searching, printing, reading, and learning everything you can about the 240sx, before making any purchases on any modifications, it'll save you many heartaches, and from a lot of flames, &nbsp;and mucho money. here's a few sites to start you out with.

<a href="www.240sx.org" target='_blank'>www.240sx.org</a>
<a href="http://srswap.com/html/info/faq_specs.htm" target='_blank'>http://srswap.com/html/info/faq_specs.htm</a>
<a href="www.freshalloy.com" target='_blank'>www.freshalloy.com</a>

<a href="www.google.com" target='_blank'>www.google.com</a> or whatever search engine you like.
Also, use the search function on both the zilvia.net forum and the freshalloy.com forum and search for whatever you want to know.

2nd-don't ask which is better, KA24-T or SR20DET. &nbsp; It's a neverending debate, which has created many divisions between people on the boards.

3rd-drifting can be fun, but it's not like InitialD...please keep it safe, both for you and for the public...in fact, if you mention that you do it in the streets, be prepared to receive some flames....

4th-do all your performance mods first(handling included), before getting some outlandish kit. &nbsp;Personally I won't flame you if you do (some might), but IMHO, performance first.

5th-good choice in vehicles! &nbsp;the 240sx is a great car...since buying mine, I've grown to love it so much, I hope I never have to get rid of it, and I can't see myself giving it up willingly either.

ok Jerzee! what up thug? You are going to get flamed big time for what you just posted, but it is understandable we've all been through your stage... well atleast most of us.. ok some of us. First of all let me tell you that you will have a lot of fun with the 240 IF you learn how it acts and reacts.

Don't try to make such big plans for modifying your car so quick. Most of the modifications required to "DURIFFTINGO" cost several grand. Every effective modification to your car will cost you quite a good amount of money. For example "Slapping in" a sr20det will atleast cost you 6 g's if you do it right, (That is if you have a shopr do it for you) If you do it yourself you will save a lot, but oyu better be a expert at mechanics.

Your desired wide body kit will cost you several g's and also the paint. I don't see where anybody, unless you are freaking rich or really hooked up, can get all this done after buying a car. Lots of $ involved.

Last of all it frustrates me that you think you can just drift... actually this has been a re-occuring problem ever since the rice magazines introduced it to the rice boys and newbies. Drifitng is very hard to do you can't just learn it like driving fast through your neighborhood and powersliding around the corners at 30mph. Drifitng involves highspeed and high risk. Drifitng requires extensive knowledge of your car and how it acts and extensive racing concepts such as double clutching etc.

you might want to do a tad of research before blindly posting retarded messages that will only anger the usually good natured people of zilvia before they can even help you.

summary: your gonna get flames, don't plan on doing all your mods so quick, you don't just slap in a sr, &nbsp;drifitng is hard to do.

Umm. &nbsp; The widebody kits from France are beautiful. &nbsp;I'd own an s13 if someone gave it to me with this kit.
