Which is the better body?

I want to know the personal thoughts and actually facts from everyone with an s13, doesn't matter what engine.

( Personally I like the trunk! )

Trunk:1
Hatch:0

i like the hatch.. but im starting to like the coupe too.. but i guess i would want a hatch before i get a coupe so i guess you can count me in for the hatch..

if you're lookin for a good handling car.. go for the coupe w/o sunroof.. glass sunroof and glass hatch offers more flexing than metal frame and a solid trunk which gives more structural integrity..

The coupe is slightly more rigid and 30lb lighter. Easy decision there. Not to mention hatches have water leakage issues around the taillights, rust-inducing foam spoilers on many, etc. etc.

I bought this hatch because it was convenient and mechanically perfect, but I wouldn't do it again. If I ever buy another S13 it'll be a coupe.

#1 was a coupe and like iv'e heard said it looks very R32. But 89 must have not been that great a year. Sohc and all, and so I got a 91 hatch that blows my mind. Buuttt. If I "had a dream" it would be a silvia stroker 240bodied SR2.2 powered DET dream. Yeah I vote trunked S13 with Silvia Reflector Headlights. Engine be damned.

You can't sleep in the back of a coupe. . .

The hatch is more useful, and definitely more sexy :-)

I personally prefer the the hatch over the coupe. However, if I were in Japan, it'd come very close but I think I would get a silvia over a 180sx.

Well the hatchback does rattle a bit and the sunroof is lame, but it's so much more usefull. I can cram so much stuff in it (like a 27" sony Wega for example). Both styles appeal to me. The coupe looks tough, but the hatchback with some 180sx tailaights is so damn cool too.

If you have little to carry go for the coupe, if you like having the usefulness of a sizable truck, get a fastback.

With those rims on that coupe and fastback, i don't think either look sexy like that. Those rims are hurting man.

The black hb looks incomplete without the rear bumper skirt. The car looks real nice until your eye hits the rear and just looks like its missing something. Other than that and the rims, it's a wet dream come true.

I like the fastback most. But I really like seeing a coupe with an S13 front end conversion. Those are sweet.

I currently own both, and to tell the truth, I like driving my Coupe more. It just feels better for some reason, but my Fastback was my first RWD car, so it has a special place .

As it sits now, it's a tie..... but once the k00p gets the SR20DET and the Silvia conversion, my vote goes to my k00p.

Joe

I vote for the hatchback madness. Coupes are ugly as sin. Look like.... dare I say it... hondas!! Besides, the ladys prefer the hatchback to the coupe. My friend rolled up next to me in his coupe and me in my hatch. I got the whistles, he got dusted

Hatchs rule, non flip up headlights though, not silvia conversion.

See why coupes are better other reason: There are less coupes. And yes it looks alredy damn sexy with out a wing and no words to describe it, if it got some clear tailigths on or skyline converion tailigths on. And you got a damn good looking RARE 240sx.

fastbacks they are real sports cars , coupes are sport sedans which are sports cars but not quite the same feeling IHMO and S14 are some of the sexiest looking sports coupes out there.
yet my vote still comes down to the 180sx i.e. S13 fastback

coupe... i don't get asked to haul stuff for friends/family when the move. plus, my friends coupe makes a lot of noise. i've owned a coupe before my brother wrecked it and it took forever to try to find another one for sale in my area. people who have them don't like to get rid of them, that's for sure.
