r32 GTR front caliper questions....

So i have a guy that is going to sell me a set of GTR calipers and i had a few questions. YEs i have searched, i havent found what im looking for.

the guy said they bolted right up to the stock location on his 93 180sx in japan but i wasnt so sure about it. do they?

are they a 30 or 32 mm?
are they pretty similar to z32 calipers, as in do they have the same mounting points on the back of the caliper?

thanks

You searched and couldn't find these answers? Seriously? The caliper in question is EXACTLY the same as the z-32 caliper except I beilieve it is 32mm instead of 30mm. Beware though as it is easy to pass of even a 26mm N/A z-32 caliper as a 30 or 32mm caliper over the internet via pictures. Also keep in mind that it may be a gts-t caliper rather than a gtr one and I believe the gts calipers were 30mm just like the z calipers.

don't order any kit for z32. Cause its not going to work properly . The r32 brakets are a bit longer than z32
I tried that and ended up selling then and bought z32 calipers . I'm on my phone so can't provide u a link now . Go to thenismoshop.com and search for r32 rotors
r32 rotors are slightly bigger than z32

R32 rotors are .5" larger in diameter. We all know this.

thats exactly what i wanted to know, if they bolted up the same or not.

i was also talking about the Powered by MAx brake kit for the s13 that uses a z32 caliper.

is there any other way to make the r32's work?

From looking at the pic they look like gt-s calipers. The r32 gt-r calipers are 32mm. The rotors for the r32 gt-r are 296x32mm and the cross drilled rotors have canted vents that suck air through them when they spin making them 125% more cooling efficient than the z32 rotors. This is a pic of the r32 gt-r caliper:

For some reason I was thinking that the GTR calipers were made by brembo not sumitomo like the gts-t/z32 calipers were. I may be wrong though.

R32 GTR (non V-spec) are made by sumitomo
R32 GTR (Vspec) R33/R34/R35 GTR's are all made by brembo

as it was stated above, yes the one on the left is a GTS-T caliper, but not an R32 gtst, that one is off an R33 Gts-t, which is pretty much the same size as R32 GTR calipers, the only difference is that the rotor is 2mm thinner.

heres how it goes:

R32 GTS-T/ Z32 TT: 280X30mm
R32 GTR: 296X32mm
R33 GTS-T: 296X30mm

you seem to know your shit

i'll snap an upclose pic of them tomorrow when i go to look at them again.

i'll let you decide on wheter or not they are GTR calipers.

so all i would need is a set of gtr rotors to make them work?

No, you also need the conversion lines. I am running these on the stock rotors and I do not recommend the z32 brakes, just get ones for the gtr pads they fit better (i've tested this)

I got the lines from pdm

The picture above with the caliper on the left is a r33 GTS caliper. The rotor size is 296 x 30 mm. R32 GTR is 296 x 32 mm.

With the r33 GTS calipers you can use 300zx rotors but you wont have full pad to rotor contact. You can buy DBA r33 GTS rotors at buybrakes.com. That is the only place I have found that is reasonable in price.

okkkkk so i picked up the calipers today. definately NOT gt-r calipers. he pulled them off a skyline in japan which he thought was a gtr.

they are the aluminum...so im thinking they are the gts-t calipers, which are 30mm correct?
