are there any alternatives to that pocket that goes underneath the stereo in the DIN space? someone jacked my stereo and took the pocket with it, but i dont really want to buy another one.

but in all seriousness...you could fab up a panel and integrate switches/TTs/BCs or whatever stuff you built in your car...

ya, because $300 gauges are way easier to buy for someone who doesn't even want to pay $10 for a pocket.

just get a piece of plastic cut it into the right shape and tape it to the trim piece or you can do it the "ghetto" way and get some cardboard and paint it black or cover it with black paper and cut it into shape and bam ur done.......you get the idea

i think you can get some cupholders that slide in and out..the jdm ones came with those..

they are on ebay all the time.

EDIT: oh didnt see that it looks like you dont want to spend any money. if you want to cheap out on going to a junkyard and getting a new one just leave it open.

You could buy some ABS plastic and cover it up but thats the same price as a pocket din.

Thats whats you should do. Make a panel to cover the space.

Kognition makes a carbon fiber one, but you could use the same idea and use plastic.

Go the the junkyard and pick up some sliding cupholders from a Maxima, Sentra, etc. so you could avoid the JDM maD TyTe!! tax.

And while you're at it, pick up a Z32 manual driveshaft for me.

^..lol i still dont think he wants to spend money..i believe someone else said it... if you have some plastic paint it black and cut it to size...ill show you what i did...although i had some carbon fiber just laying around..
but i also moved my AC controller deal down to the bottom...

its not really so much that i cant afford another pocket, i just think its kinda boring to buy another one, and seeing if there's better options.

when things get broken or lost, why not upgrade, right?

gauges are not necessary for now, ill put those in when i need them.

Nissan also has a blanking plate, that actually mounts to the frame like the pocket or head unit, sturdy and no cutting involved. I ordered both the pocket and blank when I ditched the previous owners lame ass attempt at din gauges to figure out which I liked better. Both are pretty cheap as long as your dealer isn't a reamer. I like the look of the plain plate myself.

hey do you have any pics of the blank plate? Did you get it for S13 or S14? My question is does it sit flush with the outside piece or does it sit behind it? I fabbed up a piece of plastic for my gauge setup but if i can get a nissan part that bolts in and sits flush i think i'd want that instead. heres a pic of my setup

I pretty much mounted my SBC III ID the same location as HS13KLS but it looks alot cleaner and OEM with the the ABS plastic I used.(no disrepect) Its the same color and texture as the trim pieces without the gaps. But the same idea just move it below your H/U and you should be straight.

The plastic and epoxy should be below $20.

I just put in a Mid 90's Maxima touch-to-slide cup holder. My car is N/A and i'd rather not have my soda dump over than monitor my AF ratio

I think I have a din pocket you can have... It doesn't have the bezel or anything.. Just the pocket itself..

It sits back, not flush (I hoped it did when I ordered it), but i'm still happy with it. But it mounts solid, if you ever want to mount anything to it, and easily removable since your not messing with epoxy.

68470-60M00 is the part number for the blank
68475-35F00 is the part number for the pocket

How much trouble was it to move the heater/ac controls down. I've been planning to do that and put 3 gauges in the space up top, but don't have a need yet. As soon as I'm boosted, that's my plan. I know some vehicles have the wires that push/pull with the slider type controls, but the S13 ones are all push button. Just curious. I haven't ever had the controls out before.

MADE - Do you have pics of your setup. I'd love to see it. I was planning on making trim peices to cover the gaps around the controls when I moved them down, and possibly fiberglassing the top and cutting the holes individually. Just trying to see how you did yours for some inspiration. Thanks!

hmm i also notice they kept the metal brackets i need to mount the head unit itself to the car. anyone know where i could get those? or if anyone has any for sale

You need the support brackets to mount the H/U and HVAC unit at least I did. Nissan, FR sport and phase2 carry them but its best and cheaper to buy them from someone parting cause they are a lil more than you would expect.

ehh i ddint have a problem..i would have taken a better picture..i made it look A LOT better but i sold that car that i did it to..but i remember i accidentally bent one of the wires to the blend door..i re attached it and never had a problem.. its fully functional. lol. and i thought that it looked pretty cool
