Slave Cylinder question

okay so I get back from school today change for the gym, go outside and I have no clutch, so i check the fluid it's almost empty, so I check the slave cylinder and it's leaking, my question is, are the rebuild kits(new seal and boot) worth it, like do they work or am I just better of buying a new slave... I have $5 to my name till Friday so I'm trying to be cheap as i can be

Better off buying a new one.

Who knows how long a "rebuilt" one well last...

You might also want to consider replacing the MC too

I'd get another one, they're only ~$20. $5!? that's barely a gallon of gas...

Just a heads up. I'm not a fan of the $20 autozone slave cylinders. I went to 2-3 of them in under a year before I went out and bought a brand new oem nissan one. Put that in ($50) and its been good for well over 2 years...

Yeah, I've had bad experiences with Vatozone and Pep Boys. NAPA's stuff is usually better quality. I go through a small local store to get my stuff.

True that. Go OEM or go HOME.

A cheap 240 owner pays twice, don't forget about that boys and girls.

NAPA is the only parts store worth buying from. OEM is just buying the name nothing Special there.

Advance Sucks
AutoZone Sucks
Oreily Sucks
IMO

my friend bought a slave cylinder and got a lifetime warranty at autozone for $15.
more of a bitch to replace them everytime they break. Which they do..
if you don't wanna cheap out buy the nismo, haha it made my clutch pedal feel less stiff and easier to drive.

Nismo has the EXACT same Slave as NAPA!!!! Only difference is you pay $$$$ for a name. B.S Go the cheap route get one from NAPA. Nismo wanted 250$ for my RB slave I got the same slave at NAPA for 16$ and its very strong, its able to push my twin plate Cusco Exedy Stage IV clutch with no problem. So save the $$ and get the right part.

Id say get a new one..I know aftermarket ones don't last. They're break under the pressure. And atleast you know its new compared to a rebuilt one.

$5 isn't going to get much. Fix it right or ghetto rig and pay much more later.

replace it with a stock one, can't say too much about napa's part never used one. While you are at it remove your clutch dampner line it will make bleeding the system a breeze
