Well on my drive home tonight I had the windows down even though it was cold as f&*(.  At first I had the radio up loud and heard the noise as I pulled up to a light.  So I turn the radio down and I notice as I pull away from the light slowly I can hear a noise from the left front wheel and it sounds something like the sound you get from rice krispies when you pour milk on them, but metallic sounds almost.  It's kinda hard to explain, but I'm trying so bear w/ me.  I noticed it makes the sound whether or not I'm on the brakes but I can only hear it when I'm going slow, like just starting or almost stopping.  I have the stock hubcaps and 15's, but I've never heard this noise before, and yes my weird self often turns off the radio just to listen to my N/A car sing/roar.  Anyone have any ideas before I start turning wrenches?  It's too cold and too late to go taking things apart right now.  Thanks for your ideas.

do you mean like sand on the inside of my rim.  Not between the tire and rim but the inboard side of the rim.  That runs closest to the caliper??
Maybe, there is some areas right outside my job where they took up the asphalt and are going to repave.  I'll wash the car tommorrow and take the wheels off and clean them.  They need it anyway, they got like an inch layer of brake dust on them.  Hopefully your right.  I was thinking I was going to go to be only to wake up to nightmares of shot wheel bearings.  Thanks for the advice.

no, I actually meant between your tire and the rest of the car.
Your tires kick up pebbles/sand from the road, which bounce off the fender lining (mud guard down there) or the side of your car.
