I picked up a set of tokico blues/sportlines this weekend, and I was wondering what you guys are running for camber correction in rear and front. Is a good alignment enough to fix the problem?

afaik, getting an alignment won't help excessive negative camber. Our cars don't have stock camber adjustment up front. Nor does it have caster adjustment, but we do have front toe adjustment. Then again, our definitions of excessive neg camber varies from -2 to maybe -9 (drfthvn) degrees. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='
![]() You may consider getting pillowball mounts to replace your worn out upper strut mounts.

I can't recommend this, but I've heard of people slotting/redrilling the top of their two lower strut mounts in front. You know how it's held by 3 bolts up top, and 2 on the bottom? slotting the top of the two bottom ones will let you change the angle at which the shock sits... i'm not sure if this is what people mean by "slotting" though, as i've never had to do that (I have adj. pillo mounts) ...

just get the eibach springs that lower it 1.2 in the front and 1.0 in the rear they ride great and the camber is only off half a degree on my car ... which is perfect for taking corners , and it hasnt shown any weird tire wear ... trust me they ride nice , and it wont mess up the tires at all ...

I got some Stillen Rear Upper Control Arms for like $130 of ebay. You can get Cusco, JIC, Battle Version for around $250-$320. Its the best way to adjust rear camber, I tried so many times to install the Whiteline Rear Camber Bushings and was unsuccessful every time, they wont allow you to adjust the camber with these, it just moved it a little to help help set it back to the correct setting. Another way is to get a plasma cutter and cut the stock upper control arm IIRC, 240sx.org has something on it in the Installs section.
Then you have front camber. You could use those eccentric bolts, but ive never trusted those things, maybe they work for some people, I never got them to work. Best way to get some adjustability for front camber is to buy some upper pillow mounts that allow for adjustment, Cusco, Tein, JIC are a few that make them, you can catch them on Ebay from time to time for a very good deal. They will also stiffen up your front suspension a little more by allowing the shock to absorb more of the road. ![]() |

that was a good deal on those stillen pieces. are they the same as the 300zx rear arms? I think i will try some camber bolts up front until i go to japan this summer. as for the rear, i heard that you need a press to get the camber bushings in. as for slotting, i dont think i could ever do that, it just seems so wrong <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

are sportlines that bad? i
i know they wouldn't perform as well as pro kits but they are still eibach..? the only reason Ground Controls are even reputable is because they use eibach springs right? |
