RB My S14 Project Thread. Updated 17May08

Ok, so I'm going to tell the short story of my S14, then post a bunch of pics.
I found this 1995 Nissan 240sx SE in Burlington, NC for $1900.
I wanted to do an RB20det swapped S14.
I just got back from being deployed, so I spent every dime I had to try to build a nice, clean, stock looking S14. I did the motor swap, threw on a few bolt on parts, and got it painted. I plan on putting on some R32 GTS-t wheels I have, and I have a couple of other do-dads sitting around my garage waiting to go on. I think the last few parts I want to get are some HID's, kouki side skirts, a rear valance, and the European zenki glass headlights.
I put a lot of time and money into the car. Up to this point, it turned out just how I wanted it to. Here are the pics. It's a continuous work in progress...

Cant post any more pictures until tomorrow...or until someone else posts a reply. LAME.
But, the car is already completely done, just thought I'd post a thread on here, and actually be a positive contributing member of the board.

smart move with the oil filter relo.

what are your plans for the crusty old turbo. now that you have the engine out, take time to instpect things and possibly relocate them as well to make them easier to access when the eagle has landed.

i wouldn't have enough balls to do an RB20 mang, +1

You need to wirte some sort of narrative to go with all your pictures, otherwise it's not a build thread. And you don't need 20 pictures of parts everyone has seen before.

Nice looking start, now lets hear more of a story behind it.

Um ok. I bought the car, and put a motor in it. I really dont know what more of a story to tell. I spent 2 months in my garage doing most of the work alone. So I'd work til I got frustrated and call it a day, then come back a few days later and work more. My friend Rodney came out to help me pull the motor and when I got the RB on the stand, and help me crank it up. Other than that, it was just one annoying learn-as-you-go process after another. I have a TON more pictures, and didnt really feel like writing something between each one. Here are some more.

The last day, I had 3 friends come out and help me crank it up. These are the last pictures of the actual, "build". Since this night, I got a fresh paint job and some "new" wheels. More pictures up after a reply!

Eventually I want to upgrade the turbo and manifold. But I spent all my money just getting this thing to where it is now. So I'm just going to have to save up. I dont want anything ridiculous though. I might just go with a simple RB25 stock turbo, and some tubular mani so it leaves the turbo in the stock location. I have that screamer pipe that was custom to fit around the steering column, and I'd like to keep it. Makes the car sound wicked. But overall, I'm happy with the way it turned out. I bought some black trim paint to repaint my Zenki lip...and I have some HID's on the way. Recently installed my boost controller, and boost gauge. And I'm going to get the ECU reflashed. Those are my only real plans. Oh, and welded diff. I just want a fun weekend car.

I going to take more pictures with the new wheels on. They're R32 GTS-t wheels. I'll post them up as soon as I get them. Thanks for all the support!! Oh, and I'm the one in the hat and camo shorts. Kinda douchebag looking...hahahaha!

Nice project reminds me of mine cept I have a bigger turbo and some other stuff. Try to find some GTR injectors and resistor box when upgrade, the stock 270's don't like alot of power behind them. Chip the ecu and start tuning away with Nistune realtime rom board.

Good work but for all that hastle i sure as hell woulda thrown an Rb25 in instead of 20. And for buddy above he probably closed his stock bov off and left it there and just welded the new one on. There is no vacuum line on the stock one. I just made a metal block off plate and took off the stock bov takes about 10 mins to make.

Anyways keep us posted with new stuff.

Some people understand how a build thread works.

The bolded part leads me to think that you're looking to show off pictures, not an informative build.
We have a thread for pictures.

Engine swaps have been done to death and back, then to death and from the undead, then back and forth again... Please, make it into something that makes it WORTH it's own thread.

You hacked the mounting hole on a S13 clutch pedal instead of getting the S14 spacers?

Words make a build thread.
