Lower Radiator Hose Sensor KA24E

Hey, I got a question about the lower radiator hose. Im replacing mine right now and i notcied that where the hose connects to the rad. there is a jimmy rig sensor installed. I thought it was probably the previous owner who installed it, but the thing that gets me is it's a factory connector on the sensor. I cut the wrapping off to see if he maybe cut and used the connector but it's a clean wire with no cuts. Just wondering if your lower rad. hoses also have this and what it's for. Because the new hose i bought to put in dosent have a spot for this, and by the looks of the way it's installed it definitely dosen't look factory. Thanks in advance.

That's OEM....on SOHC cars only.

Used to turn on the aux elec fan if the motor gets too warm.

Nailed it, and also posted many times by many others before.
