i have searched and can't find a clear answer, i know a BMC from a Z31 or Z32 will fit, and i can get parts at cost, so if i get the 1 1/16 BMC off a Z32 will the corrrrect percentage of fluid go to my front and rear calipers? hopefullyu that is understandable, also what options do i have for upgrading my back brakes other than 300zx brakes? thkyou

On a 240? You can use the stock one with Q45/J30 brakes.

i know but its kinda spongy so i want to upgrade it

You CAN use the stock one, but it results in slightly mushier feeling brakes. I'm in the same situation though. I think I'm gonna just try the z32 bmc and see how it is.. Worst case scenario the pedal will feel a bit on the stiff side (oh noes).

what do you mean by mushy?

my pedal feels PERFECT with my q45s on stock mc. ive had it for like 4 years

it doesn't feel very firm, like i have to press it a ways before it starts braking hard, maybe i should bleed my brakes again...

thats weird. because my brakes have barely little pedal travel before it starts to brake. the stock brakes felt a lot more mushier

maybe you had air in your brakes lines before you put on the Q45's and bled the lines, because you are pushing more fluid to the front with you your Q45's, so it should be mushier

i dont think so because my dads s13 feels like how my stock ones did.

I have Q45 front/J30 rear calipers w/ 1 1/16 Z32 BMC and SS brake lines and the setup has solid pedal feel with little pedal travel. The only time it was "mushy" was when air was in the brake lines. With the larger BMC, you don't have to apply as much pedal pressure due to the larger cylinder bore. But your OEM BMC should work fine as long as you bleed your brakes properly, you may have to push a little further cause the Q45 caliper bore is larger than the S13's.

im running front q45 calipers and rotors with raybestos pads up front, steel braided lines, stock rear brakes, stock master cyl... brakes feel great for me. try flushing and bleeding em out with fresh fluid

Q45's in front & stock in rear with steel braded lines, I went with synthetic
fluid, bled the heck out of it & they work GREAT!

my q45's brake pedal travel is a bit long and i hear people adjust the rod that connects to the brake pedal. I tried to loosen the nut or rod but it wont budge any bright ideas on how to do that?

dont adjust that nut. it wont help anything it will just creat problems within the master cylinder. the seals inside wont line up right and you'll need a new bmc
