When I opened my hood today, I noticed that i heard a ticking noise coming from the engine. Is it valve tick? How can I fix this? Also, I noticed that my fan is pretty loud, you can hear it when the hood is closed. What would be a way to quiet it down?

Yes it is valve ticking. Normal to all 240sxs. I heard using 0w-40 mobil 1 reduces that.

To fix the loud fan, get an electric one and replace the current one. Not that it's alot quiter, but at least it's not on all the time <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

The KA has 100k on it, so wouldnt 0w40 be pushing it a little? Is there a way to clean the engine or any additives to reduce the ticking?
