![]() I have been looking around 4 a better set up for the rear, mainly shoping around looking threw other peoples write ups, mags, and word of mouth but i came across these bad boys by URAS. has anyone used them?
![]() URAS Tatsunootoshigo S13 You are viewing brand new Tatsunootoshigo from the D1 R34 Driver Nomuken`s (Ken Nomura) very own company, URAS. Tatsunootoshigo are the little pieces that go on your rear brakes that look like sea horses. These are used for when you are having a hard time locking up your rear brakes no matter how high you pull the e-brake up. After installing these, you will notice that locking up the rear e-brake is so much easier. This is done by replacing the little piece on your rear caliper to add more leverage. Get this and all your JDM direct from Japan with RHDJapan. for $133. give me some feed back on them. ![]() |

I had made a pair by cutting the stock ones in half and welding in a spacer to get the same effect. I can tell you I hated them because it will made the throw of the ebrake handle much longer and softer. FYI I had made them very close to the same length as the Uras piece. Personally I like the throw to be short and firm.
There's way better things to spend 133 bucks on. If you still want them just get a piece of scrap metal and make a weld in spacer. It cost me about 10 bucks to make. If you can't weld take it to a muffler shop. |

I agree the price is too high for someone that may just be curious in this item.
I really think an American company should really get in on this, make their own and sell it at a forth the price, then it would be worth buying.

^Um...ok. Just because you don't like them makes them fucking queer?
I'm just trying to help the guy and give him info to make a better decision for himself. Please explain your opinion rather than a worthless post of profanities. |

Thus not allowing you to have total control over how your rear is being locked up; no feel. Not saying that good drivers don't use it. I'm just saying most people don't like the feel of it. Sure, if you have little bitchy girl arms a hydrolic ebrake would be tits. But for the money you're spending on that, you could go to 24hr fitness and have the power to pull up the stock ebrake. I don't really see what all the hassle is, stock ebrake works fine. The Seahorse is cool to have I guess if you spend no more than $30 on it.

Ok, 1st. "fucking queer" doesn't explain anything. 2nd. Have you used one? You do have total control and it's not on/off, it depends how hard you pull the handle. 3rd. Having "bitchy girl arms" will not help you lock it anymore than the cable counterpart. I found that it takes just as much effort in strength to lock the hydro vs. cable. 4th. Stock ebrake does work fine if you like to adjust cable tension regularly. Hydro is consistent and has less maintenance. Also, having the freedom of installation allows the user to position it in a way for maximum control and comfort. LOL that last few words sounds like a Bic razor commercial. |

me and my friend actually made these. We just welded in a a piece of metal maybe and inch long. and increased the length of the stock bracket
It defiantly feels different. it feels a lot lighter and less resistant. But, I think the two brackets weren't exactly the same length. Because I keep getting slack on one of the caliper's cables, and I have to adjust it all the time. |

perfectly easy to modulate. I dunno how dousan got that impression about the hydro brake, but you should stop parroting him until you figure it out for yourself. |

The setup I tried, wasn't to my liking.
Maybe with enough time on it I could get use to it. So, being as how I've driven the setup I'm only parroting myself. Fuck what anyone else says. You can like it all you want, I still am a fan of the cable style setup. You're either a fan of it, or you're not.

The hydro brake is like the foot brake, just because you press the brake pedal doesnt mean it's instant lock-up. It all depends how much pressure you put on the pedal (in our case the handle). Anyone with a understanding of hydraulics should know this.
Sure it's not for everyone but I like it. |

i got the uras Ebrake things in my car and love it, with the stock you have to hold the ebrake up for like 2 seconds before it locks or either hold it up really high, with the uras its instant and you dont have to hold it really high, shits bad.

...yeah and it's ugly n shit. LULULULUL.
I like the PBM set up though, super trick looking. I think e-brake like many things in drifting is up to preference and what feels good to the driver.
