Crazy Mileage!!!
I just ran into a guy today that was is his 60's who had a 92 SE 240sx. I asked him if he wanted sell it and he said no but that he gets younger guys that ask him all that all the time. He said that he drove the car all over the country and that it had 318,000 miles on it and that it was never rebuilt. That was crazy to me i had never heard of them lasting that long. Anyone else no of high mileage 240's?

Not on the road but I found one at the junkyard that had 350K on the odometer. It's funny too because the car was so clean. Perfect body, clean paint, mint interior complete with an uncracked dash, sunroof shade, and floormats. The engine bay was clean as well, engine looked rebuilt.
I saw another that has over 400k miles on it but it looked like it came straight out of Mad Max lol |

most of the high mileage 240's ive seen have been in the best shape..as far as paint, dings, all original. that goes to show just how well the KA motor was built.
found this a few years ago maybe 3 years ago when i first had my s14. ![]() ![]() |

When I bought mine...it was in EXCELLENT condition - no Cracked dash Everything works w/ a Few dents. had 189,000
Now ODO Reads 196k (SR now) and my KA is in my Buddies car that has not 1 issue.Not a Single leak or anything. This is why when I Sell the Supra I'm buying another one.

I'm at 280k+ miles right now. Just did some seals and minor stuff, nothing serious and keep up with oil changes, burning oil, my compression is on my signature, and it still takes a beating w/o getting a mark on it!
![]() KAs ftw. Oh ya, Wana-drift reminded me. I don't leak at all, granted I got some extra cash and decided to take care of any leaks. Which only consisted of: one of the power steering hoses, front main seal/valve cover seal (only 'cause I never replaced 'em after doing work to that area). Nothing leaks onto the floor is what I can say! ![]()

Crap that 240 must be leaking everywhere...well at least by the tranny..that factory seal suck...oww i just changed my oil..im almost at 250k..-_-

S14 I recently purchased has 258k on the clock, and this car wasn't really even taken car of that great, but still pulls through the gears like a champ. Obviously it needs small stuff like an oil seal, and a iacv but if you take good care of something there's not reason it shouldn't last longer than the sheet metal.

im at 170,000 with my s14.
still runs strong. if you give it some TLC, and some engine tune-up's once in a while, you'd have a dependable 240. ![]() -makua[ace]

![]() But, on topic, my dad gets asked to sell his 240 all the time, he tells the kids "nope, I am saving it for my grand daughter" to which they reply "damn she's lucky"....haha, he loves his damn car soooo much, I doubt he will even give it to her... hah. im sure if you dont try to drift your car or rev it at every stoplight anyone can get there car somewhere around 200k. 300+ i think comes with a little luck, good maintenance can only get you so far...sometimes you just get a shitty built engine.
that is unless you have an AMG motor...which are all hand built by one mechanic and that mechanic has his name stamped into the motor. talk about Quality Control |

It all depends on how well it's taken care of.
Maintain any car well and it will last a long time. Mine has 176k and I abuse it all the time. I also check just about everything religiously though. We'll see how long it lasts. |

my old 89 had 190,000 on it. Compression was 150 on all 4 cylinders, give or take literally only 3 or 4 PSI. Didnt leak much oil at all, ran strong, and only occasionally had a slight valve tick... From me not using the correct viscosity oil during the winter.
The KA is a wonderful engine.

Mine died at 176,xxx
But it was turbo'ed at 106,xxx. not bad, withstood about 70,000 worth of compress air forced down its throat on stock internals before pooping oil everywhere. |
