Depends on your setup and how much money/work you want to put into it. If you're running factory speakers, don't bother. That much more juice than the deck puts out will wear them real quick. For aftermarket speakers, just find a home for your amp, then you have two choices on wiring. First off, if you're lazy, just pull the signal wires from the amp to the factory speaker wires behind the deck. Hook em up and go. Ideally, you'd get off yer lazy ass and run the wires all the way to the back of the speakers. A continuous wire will not only be bigger (hopefully), but will have less signal attenuation as splicing into the factory wires, where you'll get signal reflection, power loss, and all sorts of non-good stuff.

As far as hooking up the amp goes, that's reserved for "Wiring Basics 102"

i amped up all 4 speakers...
i didnt spend much cuz i am not big into loud music....
it is too loud for me already
on my pioneer, i dont turn it more than 9 on idle and max is like 18

before i amp it, i used to have it at 15 at idle and 30 on driving....

i spent $25 on each pair for 4x6 (50% off the cheapest pioneers) and then got a 4 channel amp for $70 (4x100)
but if u r asking abt the sub, that is a different question
$250 for the amp and wood to build the box, and about $100 on the subs.....
