just need a few questions answered please

well this is my first post here,i just joined a few minuts ago. i have been looking 4a site that has the info like this.
i have been hooked on 240sx for awhile now and havent had te chance 2 ask any questions about them.

how hard would it be to tune a 240sx(s13 and s14) to run lets say uder 11 or 12 seconds? about what are the horse power and torque levels that a car running under 12 sec? how hrd is it to reach these levels? will 240's even run that fast?
can you do drop a s15 sr20det into an s14? can you do some crazy swaps like a rb26dett or rb25det into an s14?could u have a custome twin turbo manifold made so you could havean sr20dett?

Well i know its alot of questions but i have been holding them inside 4 a long time. i have been looking into buying an s13 or s14 and wa just woundeing the potential power that i could achieve. any info would be a great help, thanks

my friend. All of these topics have been discussed many times. You will find more info through the function than in any single post in this thread.

BTW--welcome to the Land of Zilvia!!

It should be pretty easy, just get a turbo running around 15-20psi and an lsd.

Probably around 350hp and 300 or so torque, and you alredy asked that.
Quote:

Yes a few people on this forum run that.
Quote:

Yes

Yes you just need to get it custom fabricated.

Sure, but I don't know why you would want to.

ok, but why not, there are tons of places to ask?

which one, those are vastly different goals. 12s are easy, but 11s you need a cage, they don't do that because every car can run 11s you know. You will need a lot of power and experience to run 11s. I've seen people in 10 sec cars run 13s.

from http://www.dsm.org/tools/calchp.htm 11.99 in a 3000lb car(you in a s14) is about 344rwhp. You will need a good launch no mattter what power you have and slicks will certainly help

of course you can do all that stuff, you can put a twin turbo V8 in if you wanted. Why do you guys ask these "can this be done" questions they are absurd. Everything can be done, just watch hig-rev tuners sometime, they prove that all the stupid stuff you want to do to a car is possible. If you want to put a chrome KA valve cover on a SR, it can be done, not recommended, but doable.

BTW, I'm pretty nice the next guy that will post will rip you a new one. There is a lot of info here, but since you have only been here for 5min you wouldn't know that. We don't like doing research for you anymore then you like doing our geography homework.

Please stop using AIM lingo too, it gets really annoying, its a forum, you can type correctly.

Yea man. Under 11 seconds won't happen. Hell, a turbo won't even happen.
I am so sick of these posts about keyboard commandos asking what needs to be done and how much for this-and-that.
A) If you ask what needs to be done, it's beyond you, and if you try to do it without having any information to back it up, you'll get taken, hard.
B) If you ask how much something costs.. it's too much for you. Period. I'll be running in the 12's somewhere for a total of a little under $20k, including my $10k car. BoostedS14 runs in the 11's for a total of $28k, according to his website.
Finally,
C) If you ask if you can twin-turbo a 4-cylinder, you will get flamed.
So.. in conclusion, research what you're getting into, and don't ask questions so unspecific about things that will probably never happen.
(And when/if you turbo your car, you can ask all the questions you want, and I'll be the first to help you.)

1) nobody will be very willing to answer your questions if you don't have a 240. so.........do you?
2) nobody will be very willing to answer questions about getting into the 11's unless you are already boosted. so.........are you?
3) nobody will be very willing to answer questions about a swap unless you have done some research yourself. so..........have you?

if you answered "no" to all 3 of these questions........nobody will be very willing to like you. so..........did you?

HAHAHA!

Anyways...You said that you've been hooked on 240's for awhile. So why haven't you done any research. Please tell me you didn't start liking them because you saw one in a magazine....and if you say Super Street..........

Now don't get all butt hurt by everyones responses. Everyone on here can be VERY helpful but they don't like answering generalized questions. I also have been hooked on them for awhile. I just haven't found one yet. The difference is that I've been reading before posting and also trying to contribute to the general knowledge of this board. So that being said.....GO LEARN SOMETHING...and post about stuff worthwhile. (Oh, and I didn't feel like answering any of your questions because other people already have)

EDIT: Welcome to the board!
