My Coupe build....The End Result...
I don't think I ever posted anything here about my build that I completed in August.
I bought the car last January....ripped it apart...and built it from the ground up. EVERYTHING on the car was done by me. And I mean EVERYTHING. I painted it, did all the fab work, all the mechanical, even tuned it. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. This is what it looked like the day I bought it. Drove it 900miles from Philadelphia to Western Michigan without a single hickup. Then it went into work with me. I worked at AllSpeed Performance in Muskegon MI. On my lift waiting the tear down... Interior gutted for roll bar Picked up a Silvia front from EliteJDM The beginning of my Defi collection Rollbar allmost finished. I waited untill the seat was mounted to figure out how I wanted the harness bar I cut out the stupid hump on the drivers side floor board. I'm 6'1 and it was a crunch for me in a racing seat and I really wanted more head room for when I was in the car with a helmet on. The main hoop of the roll bar really took up alot of space. Before All material removed New floorboard welded in place Next up was doing the body work on the front end. It wasn't too bad but having never done bodywork, I had to learn on this car I painted the engine bay first. I was pretty scared that I'd have major problems with dirt and grease so I did it seperatly than the rest of the car. I actually had no problems at all. It came out beautifull.. Rest of the car in primer. After MANY MANY hours of painfull bodywork. The end result... I also picked up a set of used Gramlights. This is what they looked like on when I got them... But I had a ton of extra paint so pearl white gramlights sounded sooooooo gangsta Looks MUCH better Now for the engine... I dont have too many pics of the internal work. I did all the headwork late one night and I was the only one at the shop and since I'm an idiot....I forgot to take pics. But....on with the goodies... Engine in...I did this ALONE! NEVER try to drop in an SR by yourself! It sucked big time But it got in there and I quickly started bolting everything in.. Installed the oil cooler set-up as well. Tomei oil block adapter, remote mount oil filter pedistal, Setrap oil cooler, and earls pro-lite -10an lines... AN vacum lines under manifold The first start-up. New Seat installed... Siebon carbon fiber hood installed. I DA'd off the crappy clear coat it comes with and sprayed 6 coats of good clear with a little bit of pearl in it as well. Breathing fresh air for the first time!!! And heres all the fliks of the finished product. I still have a little I want to do. OEM Aero side skirts, either an Aero lip or pignose, and a differnt steering wheel with a quick release... A complete List of Mods done... Clean, simple, and has decent power to back it up.
Props X100000000000000000000

congrats on the build. Great attention to detail (especially by taking the time to take off ALL the moldings during paint prep. I hate seeing painted window molding.)
As far as the body work, it seems pretty good. When you get a chance though, reinstall the bumper support, or make a support so the bumper doesn't sag. Yes, I realize with the front mount, you need to cut out about 80% of that sucker, but at this point its not about absorbing energy during a front end collision.

Not a fan of same colored wheels. No contrast at all, looks funny.
Also, with everything out of the car, why didn't you stitch weld the bay/interior?

Very nice and simple, I plan on doing something very similar to my hatch, AND I FUCKEN LOVE THE ROLL BAR. But I got to ask though how were you on time: how long did it take.
OH yhea fuck the fags that were talking shit with there criticism, like to see them do anything near of a project you did, and not fuck it up. -to each his own.

All that effort on the engine, and you put the OE shitass oil pressure switch back on. -1. It will leak and make a mess out of the nice underhood paint. Otherwise it's an A+.
