newb looking at a silvia, need help

Yo, so I'm looking at this 1992 240sx coupe with sr20det redtop and s13 front end conversion. The guy just built the car for fun and to sell it. I'm looking into buying it, but i need a couple questions answered.

What kinda of regular maitenance does the sr20 need?

Should i be asking about tranny, whether its lsd or not?

what kind of inspections and registrations do i need to pass? specifically in PA and NJ if possible

Thanks, and feel free to direct me to any threads with any of these topics. I searched but this is more a vehicle specific kind of thing.

The same as any other Japanese turbo four cylinder. It's a stock engine, treat it like one.

In this car, the transmission and diff are separate. Ask anyway, as one might have been added to the car, separately from the engine swap.

Check the web sites for the PA and NJ DMV's. You can safely assume the engine will not pass any visual inspection. A stock-ish SR in good tune should pass a tailpipe inspection.

Nissan recommends changing the oil on it's turbo engines every 3000km (somewhat conservative). So about every 2000miles would be sufficient, that is if you just drive normally, no track, drift, etc.

Doesn't hurt to ask if it has LSD. If it does, then be happy.

As for registering, have no idea at all. Like AKADriver said, check with your local DMV.

I agree with 91crx. Its not a good idea to buy a hybrid car if you couldnt do the swap yourself.
