I don't think you've ever heard of this....

I was watching a Hot Rod show on TLC Wednesday night and I saw something that made my jaw drop.

It was a Hot Rod Special Concept Car. Under the hood, there was:

2 TURBO CHARGED 505 BIG BLOCKS -- THAT MADE OVER +1800 HP.

I was in awe, and I couldn't believe it. It was at the drag track and it would just sit there and smoke for minutes. It was truly unbelievable.

Has anyone else heard of this? I want some pics so bad..... I hope someone can find some because I've been searching all night!

Are there any other cars you know that have 2 engines??

Awe makes me actually want to sit in that car, though I would't drive it. Too scary.
So if ya'll have any other info on this Hot Wheels Prototype that would be great!!

Thanks,

Moose

If I'm not mistaken, they modeled it after one of the original Hot Wheels cars. If that is what you're talking about, with 2 motors sitting side-by-side, that thing is a monster. Don't have any pics though, sorry.

only 1800+ hp?? Damn... i thought inline 6's get near there (some 2jz-gte's are in the 1xxx range). I'd expect more from a turbo 505 block....

I can't imagine what the torque might have been.

i remember watchin a show here in sacramento a couple months ago called 'Speed Logic' (shows everyday like around 5 or 5:30 on Channel 53, ''Mundos'') and this show showed a truck, sorta like a semi, one of them big rigs with no container end, but instead it had like 3 jet engines pushin 50,000 HP...it was pretty crazy...but i was kinda confused when i saw it ran about a 9...it was labeled ''World's Fastest Big Rig' or something...i forget...

Sounds like a tractor pull compeditor.

Five big blocks would be more impressive and every bit as street legal. Know what I mean?

Yeah the car sorta looks like an old corvette, and it was modeled after an original Hot Wheels Car. I think that was the show with chip foose.

well not stupid ... more of a waste .... they should invest that money and time into making something that could be used in the sports car industry and racing world ... i mean its cool to look at and i bet it would be fun to burn out in ... but i just like more functional projects ....

oh and i didnt mean domestics were stupid ... my car is the only foreign car my family has had since like 1986 ....

The cars he quoted are more than likely functional race cars, just drag race cars.

But, the multi-engine exhibition dragster thing specifically is nothing new, either. Back in the '60s a cat by the name of "TV" Tommy Ivo shocked the world by bolting four Buick nailhead V8s to a custom AWD dragster. Back in those days noone had ever seen a vehicle turn four of the era's best drag slicks to smoke at the same time.
