S13 Silvia/240sx Convertible w/SR20DET 5-SPD Question/Info

Sup. I've been planning on getting a 240sx convertible (s13) for a long time. My intentions are to do the whole jdm x-over (Silvia front end / redtop SR w/5-spd Swap / Lower / LSD / FMI / Bolt ons, etc.). I finally found one, now I need to ask yall for some help B4 I buy. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

1) Will 240sx lowering springs/coilovers mount to the conv. I always see "Conv. Excluded", but is that because of weight, or different mounts?

2) Is there a way to take the Convertible Motor out and operate the top manually? I say this because I know the convertible is about 180 lbs heavier than the coupe - A manual tranny cuts out 50lbs / no spare tire = 20-30 lbs / silvia front end i heard is lighter - so that will be about 100lbs shaved right away, but convertible motor assymbly I'm sure weighs a ton.

3) What's up with that bar on the door (I think it holds the seatbelt?) Is there any way to get rid of that/relocate it because it's not on the Japan Conv. and it looks like it gets in the way of vision.

Anyone that has experience with the conv. please help out....

Suspension stuff is the same. They always say it won't fit the convertible because the convertible has different OEM part numbers listed in the books for springs and shocks, to support the added weight. Any S13 suspension should still bolt in.

I don't know about taking the top motor out.

The seatbelt mount would probably have to be replaced with all JDM parts to keep the seatbelt functional. Good luck finding them. I wouldn't want the seatbelt to mount that low anyway.
