no offense, but you should read up before you post up man, there are PLENTY of threads on lsd's. your vlsd will do just fine for you learning, you're not going to need an lsd until you get better. i started drifting open diff and now i drift welded.

its funny but what shadow hunter said is exactly correct, it was a the short version but its correct hahaha, vlsd is super garbage i would go with a welded unless ur a baller then get a 2-way of some sort, i had a vlsd for about a year and it failed a lot and now i have a welded and i would never want anything else its perfect, but all u need to do is get it and put it in, either way ur gonna have to take the diff apart if u need help with that PM me or search it there a bazillion threads about it

lol . . . yea welcome to zilvia. Try finding a local forum to ask your questions. Since you are somewhat new to drifting, you could find a mentor haha. You're in New York right? I have the right one for you. PM me for the URL.

it is a forum to ask questions...but the question you asked has been asked 100 times before. if you're serious about drifting and on a budget, get a welded diff, i won't rock anything else anytime soon. if you don't want to hear it clunk and stuff at low speeds, get a vlsd out of a j30. if your rich get an lsd. learn to spell though, it took me a few times to read your posts.

theres no doing it wrong 2 way and welded diff give u the same result its a locked rear end, 2-ways go for upwards of 6-700 dollars and thats for a cheap one, welded diff costs you some argon, some wire, a can of brake cleaner, 3 bottles of gear oil, a 7 dollar paper gasket, and some wrenching time, i've done several of them and they are all driven hard and none of them have broken, but if a 900 dollar 2-way will give u that piece of mind that ur "doing it right" then by all means go for it

if you get a welded be sure to weld steel plates in there as well as welding the spider gears together!
