need advice on lowering
Hi, as of right now I'm waiting for Tein to come out with their super street dampers for our cars. I just put on my exhaust and intake, and I'm waiting for my ST sways to arrive. I'm looking for a temporary lowering, but I'm not sure which springs to get. Just something to make the car a little lower haha. I was thinking the pro-kit, but I don't know if it'll be lower enough. I was also thinking the sport-lines, but I think they'll make my car looked like it's a rice rocket. Do the sport-lines lower the car enough to close that awful wheel gap in the front? Or should I consider getting the Tein S-tech, but they only lower the rear .9", so that won't really conseal the exhaust too much. What about the H&R sport springs? They lower the front 1.4 and the rear 1.3. Would the small difference from the front and the back make the car lowering look weird? Any advice is fine. My main goal right now is to just make the car look a little lower to hide the exhaust and lessen the wheel gaps until I can get the super street damper kit from tein.

Personally, I say wear your wheel gap proudly until you get what you want, it's kinda wasteful to pay for springs, when your plans are to spend even more on dampers. Sure you could sell them, but they will be used and you will still have lost money. Trust, there are people here sporting the wheel gap and not complaining

You can pick up brand new Sport-lines off Ebay for 195 shipped. You could buy them, and when you want to sell them, I will buy them off you for like 175. I will be buying some soon. It would be benificial for both of us.

I've decided to just get springs and struts/shocks.
I'm not sure what springs to get, but I've decided on either the prokit or sportlines. I have a blitz nurspec R exhaust, so I don't want to lower the car too much. Also, I'm planning on getting a body kit, so I don't really want to worry much about cracking it. Will the pro-kit lower my car enough, or should I go for the sportlines? If you have any pictures of these springs on a 97-98, can you please post them for me to see? |

i have prokits.
Click "kouki monster" in my sig for pics. Those pics were taken literally minutes after me and my friend installed them. My car sits a little lower now.....basically cuz i have jacked up shocks so they've started to sag....still looks cool! hahaha j/k. :P Here's a pic from about 2 months ago ![]() (Photo taken by Logan Yoshida) It sits just a tad bit lower than that, now that i look at it. I have maybe 2 fingers width of gap now in the front. |

What i should have clarified, was that when i put the springs on, they were already 2 years old. They were used springs that i got for free from a friend. The spring cant really settle too much more after 2 years of use. The springs were still in good condition at the time of install, but the ride of the car has gotten progressively worse in the last couple months (its A LOT more harsh; i can feel almost every imperfection in the road!) so i know its not the springs, its the shocks. |

You think sportlines will lower my car too much? I just want the car to look clean. So when I have my body kit, it won't be really slammed or anything.

Also, will the prokit lower my car enough? I don't really want to pay 200 for springs that don't really even lower the car much. Well, I have stock 16in rims atm, so maybe if I got 17's or 18's the lowering will look better. I'd get sportlines, but I'm afraid that they will lower my car too much.

IMO, the sport line is too low, especially with 16in rims. The pro-kits are a pretty decent drop though.
Have you taken a look at the H&R springs? They lower 1.4 in the front and 1.3 in the rear. The drop is less than than sportlines and a little more than the prokits. The H&R's arent as stiff as the prokits so they dont perform AS well as them (this is debatable), but IMO they're a better spring than the sportlines. So its kind of an "in between spring". |

I've decided to get the Pro-kit and the kyb agx adjustables. You think they're a good combo? As of right now I can get them shipped for $672.05. Is this a decent deal, or can somebody get them shipped within a week for cheaper? I was just going to order them both from www.tirerack.com.

Pro-kits and kyb agx's is a good combo. You should be pretty happy with it.
Now as for price, i know that you can get the shocks for less than 120 a piece from pdm racing. I'm not too sure about the springs though. You should also email Chris or Jon from Speed Alliance and see what they can do for you. They might be able to get you a better deal. Speed Alliance rocks! ![]() |

If you don't want too much of a drop, the TEIN S Techs are not too shabby. I just put them on with my AGX. Haven't really gotten a chance to put them to the test, but they ride pretty good for the day to day grind. My strut assembly now looks like a Christmas decoration for a garage (Red AGX & Green Springs).
