Newbie here, need help, maf related?

K I got a 1991 240sx with the ka24 engine. Runs good and healthy..but it wont rev past like 5000, maybe 5200 something like that, its as if it hits the rev limiter? I have heard it's MAF related and went to check my maf, it seems to be nice and clean but the maf has 4 male connectors on, where the plug has 3 female connectors. Would this cause the problem? Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Look for at the fsm for the wiring diagram. Im on my phone so i can't post link to it but it should be easy to find. If it's like the ka24d the harness connector has 3 wires and the maf has 4 pins. Im not to sure on the single cam.

Looks like you got that ultra-rare "launch control" factory option. Such a thing was still somewhat experimental back then, fresh out of the prototype stage. Consider yourself lucky, that's like winning the lottery.

um what.... yea anyways.. No no check engine light on. I'm going to look into the 5th gear sensor or something? another post said it might have went and it may think every gear is 5th gear so its limiting it at that.

Does anyone have any answers, every post I find has a different solution it seems. Every gear, even neutral or with clutch in stops at 5100 5200 rpms around there as like a rev limiter. What the hell is the fix?

Clean your maf, check your timing, any vacuum leaks, fuel filter, fuel pump(pressure), start fixing shit and checking things man, this is zilvia, not spoon feed me and tell me how to fix my car, i dont mean to be a jerk but i get annoyed at all the newb questions we get asked daily/weekly on this forum, we are willing to help, but you have to help yourself first man, go check things and get back to us...
