seized coilovers
got a set of apexi worldsport coilovers. both fronts seem to be seized, like rock solid. jump up and and down on front reinforcement bar solid. no give at all.
funny part is that when you take them off the car and get the springs off, they compress by arm strength and come back out fine. i thought it could be a control arm or sway bar bushing so i grease everything and EVERYTHING moves freely. even new bushings in tension rods. i then put them in my other s13 which is in better shape even, and had same exact rock solid stiff problem. the rears are compressing on the car as they should. what could the problem be? thanks |

Its not seized if the strut compresses/decompresses. Mine does the same (HKS) where the fronts are rock solid.
Either: (a) valving/spring rate is aggresive (never looked into these). or (b) struts are slightly leaking causing it to sag under compression. |
