Im still a noob enough not to know how to look for in marking and stuff. However, if you have hicas, you do 100% for sure have an lsd. If you have abs its most likley that you have an lsd but not 100%. If you dont have hicas or abs then you dont have an lsd. Hope this helps some.

Not always true. Ive had a 93 camaro 6cyl. I know it has an open diff. and both tires would spin. Also my GSR has an open diff and both tires pun also. Just my experience.

for s13/s14/s15
jack up rear
put can in neutral and ebrake off.
turn one wheel
open diff other will turn other direction (opposite of the one your turning.

also if you have a friend hold the other wheel so it wont move and you turn your will. the open diff will turn your wheel easily

vlsd will give some (quite abit) of resistance depending in what condition its in.

good luck

jack it up
yes you can do burnouts and leave 2 marks w/ open diff
jacking it up or opening the diff is the MOST ACCURATE way to find out if your car is VLSD equipped or not. takes 5 mins toj ack it up and check. less then taht but by the time you pull out the jack and put blocks on the front adn then put everything back, it will have been about 5 mins

well, i guess you could find a parking lot, slowly accelerate in first gear with the steering fully left or right. increase throttle to the max, and you should end up in one of the three possible senarios:

1) inside tire spins in a smokey burn, car continues in the same circle.
2) both tires spin, car does a quick flip 180.
3) car accelerates and plows foward in yummy understeer.

senario 1 means it's an open diff, senario 2 means you have an lsd, senario 3 means you have to repeat the experiment again with quicker throttle increment. hope that helps... good luck!
