car dies when down shifting?

yesss i searched before i posted this...

okay, so when im down shifting to coast to a stop it will bog way down and die,it has a pretty smooth idle, thats why im stumped...its a ka24e...im thinking its a vacume leak...so i might just say the hell with it and do a emissions delete.

let me know of any ides...thanks

and it smells hella gassy so i think its running rich which a new development.

If I'm driving along and I throw it in neutral my RPMs dip really low sometimes kills the engine... however, I think this has to do with my lightweight flywheel and atmospheric BOV... sr20det redtop. Usually when I throw it in neutral I'll blip the throttle a bit and it'll be good.

edit: my idle is a solid 850 too.

Well sorry this isn't to the OP but to biggino if your BOV isn't recirculated you should do that. My car did that too, but now I'm running AEM so I don't need to recirculate. But, if you're too lazy or don't want to buy the few parts to recirculate, what I did was just brake until about 2000rpm and then engage the clutch and down shift for each gear. It rarely died when I did that. Sorry I don't have any ideas for you tbirch.

Yeah, I don't really have a solution for you since you don't have a BOV. I'm not that intelligent when it comes to diagnosing car problems unless my car has had the same experience.

Haha that is exactly what mine was, except a bigger turbo, but Power FC with a street tune. My local tuner doesn't really know how to tune Power Fc's. He said if I recirculated my BOV it wouldn't do that AS MUCH. He said it wouldn't cure the problem, but would help drastically.

Increase idle to 950 on powerfc... Open up the IACV.... check water temp, make sure it isn't adding any fuel at 80c and not have a lot of fuel added at 50c....

I think SR20's are the common factor here. Has anyone had any of these issues with LSX swaps so far?
