HUD Windshield Cracked, What To Do???

So i have a perfect working HUD and my windshield is cracked and realized that if i put a regular windshield i might not get the speed showing up on it. Can i buy a regular windshield and maybe there's some kind of sticker to put on so that it reflects or what??? Anyone with this info let me know what to do, sorry for the dumb question but i have had two s13's before and have never had the HUD work like this one.

Well i haven't replaced the windshield yet, but i plan to. I was thinking of ordering the film from defi that they give you when you order their HUD. I found the part number online.

It's probably tint, you could just use tint... use tint.

I also have a working HUD and replaced my windshield. The only difference from the regular and HUD windshield was $10-$15. So might as well go legit than wack. But tint could work, but how it'll work during daytime. goodluck

I asked my glass guy and you can get a replacement one. It actually has a film in the glass that the HUD reflects off of. I'm going to pull the HUD shield out of my coupe before I junk it. I'd just give a call to your local glass guy and see what he can do.

I might be selling mine along with the HUD and dash. I'm sure shipping would be crazy.

I just learned to live with the crack (threw a bunch of stickers on my glass lol) I don't want a stock windshield but if I get a ticket I'll cough up the $150 for a regular one.

I've done this twice just get a piece of mirror tint or one of those mirror screen protectors for an iPod touch. Perfect and looks factory. I got 3 for $2. You can't see it in daytime without the tint!

if anyone needs one I have an extra for free PM me

My Friend had his windshield crack so he put in a regular windshield and his hud still showed up O.K. I was told that a new Hud windshield cost about $1000.00 which is not good.

I wish there wasa way to aim the actual hud unit. The projected info sits too low in my field of vision... would like to somehow aim it up more.

Back when I had my Altima w/ HUD I had to replace the windshield. I opted for the cheaper route in hopes that the HUD would still display. It was a little hard to see during day time driving, but at night it was fine.
