Is Anybody Else Broke?

i'm "broke as a joke" ...i only have 3 grand to play with on a project car. I found a 240sx for 400 bucks with a blown motor, anybody think its possible to do a swap with the rest of the money?
I saw the article in Sport Compact where they did it for cheap, but realisticly, i dunno if i can

no i don't think it is possible. SCC has hook-ups and sorts and can get a good price on almost anything. Your best bet is to:

1. Buy the car and put a stock motor in and drive that for awhile until you save up $5,000 bucks to take care of the sr motor and anything that will go wrong( always better to plan for the worst).

2. Keep the car you currently have and just save up more money for the swap.

3. Or just don't buy the car at all and forget that you read the article in SCC.

Are you serious? You sound like one of those ungrateful physicians I have heard complaining of only making $130K, while his colleagues are making more and he is broke, sheesh. Broke, wanna know what broke is? Its when you live on the street, have nothing to eat, no money to buy essentials with, no family to help, and getting happy when you see a restaurant throwing scraps out into the trash, thats broke. Or not knowing if you might lose your house or car because you just lost your job. $3k, that spoiled IMO.
No offense, again, its just my opinion.
Have a nice day!

3K? That's way better than me. I only have 500 in the bank and still owe my friend and government a total of 7K. No steady job and paying bills. Damn I'm screwed.

ZC paints a vivid picture.

3k eh?

No income?

I would not spend a dime on the car and sell it and take the bus.

What cha going to do when you have nothing at all, no house, no car, no nothing at all?

Better get your life right.

I see a dude on the corner every morning. I finally got up the courage to talk to him. I got him a haircut, shave a new clothes. I took him to a hotel where he could get a bath. I took him to DMV to get a current ID. I gave him 50 bucks and told him to buy some paper towels, some windex and hang out at my buddys gas station and wash windows on cars for 1 buck each...to make 100 a day to get on his feet since my buddy gets 300 cars + a day.

He is on the corner looking worse than ever. fuk him. I tried, I did my gaddamndest, no dice.

You want to be that person one day?

You are not broke you even have web acsess..but you are 3 months away from it.

Get going, get going now..forget the car...get a life.

IF you are 18+ and living with your folks, get the hell out and make something of yourself before you can't.

The whole post is like...I am broke..I got 3000.00 my daddy had 20 million..I don't know what to do...I am sad..

ROck something while you can.

Try this when you are 40. I dare you.

hey i live at home and i'm 24..lol..so i resent that statement Bill...remember, not all people who live at home have yet to make something of themselves......for some it is the financially responsible thing to do...

blue bird motors are a little less expensive plus there is little to no wireing or plumbing because the sentra already has an SR motor in it thus eliminiating most of the cost involved in the 240 swap

research research research

Timanator- Dude if your going to graduate I wouldn't take a loan. Payments will be due in december. o.O Unless you need to eat and stuff, then it might be understandable. Then again debt is not a fun thing either.

Cmoney- If you smoke quit that, lots of car goodies to be bought with all that extra $$$.

I'm a f-in spoiled brat kid and you have 2600$ more then me.
(although I did drop almost all my savings on car parts recently...)

Patience man! I drove mom's minivan for 3 years, took the bus for 2. I went through all my highschool functions rockin' the minivan while my friends recieved new cars and one of them went through 3 new ones in one year (bastard). Spend the time researching parts, making up part lists, and install instructions, so one day when your father makes a bet about not getting certain GPA and not getting into a good school, you can shock him and make him keep his word, and recieve a 240 . Actually thats just what happened to me (I doubt anybody else is that lucky), but I also had 3 grand (working at mcdonalds!) in my senior year, and I waited on it for 2 years and found it was good money to make boost. Currently i'm going to school (18 credits! doh!) and working minimum wage again to buy food and car parts (usually car parts win).

Project cars are for the rich, or very hungry (literally).

Don't listen to SCC, their in another world when they talk about prices.

They won't be due until 6 months after I graduate. So that gives me a little time. Plus, I'm in need of a new computer, a laptop since I will be on the road a lot. The loans are 9% interest or less....although I've already taken out $36,000 with the majority of that being a 4% rate. So, whats another $1500?

damn I thought I was worst off with being nearly $10k in dept with school loans at a 3.5% rate and I have two more years left, so hopefully I won't have to take out anymore.
