I've always enjoyed seeing galleries that show "cleanest engine bays" and stuff like that. I love how these threads end up with like 10 pages worth of pics to skim through.

What I want to see now, are pictures of the absolute CRAPPIEST motor swaps or turbo setups. I will go ahead and post pics of an old setup my friend had, I am still amazed at how it worked.. non-intercooled, this KA24DET ran for a total of 4 days or something.

Extreeemly! Went through 2 dif clutchs, GT 2510 Compressor Blades were torn to crap, etc etc. I was going to rip it all apart and start over with it but didnt have the time or money.

if that was addressed to me, than honestly, i don't thing there is anything wrong with the first pic other than the absence of the ic... and that isn't that much of a wrong thing for low boost...

I ain't got 4K to kill on a NICE turbo kit, and hey if it runs it runs. Ace's car also has a jbwelded oil pan bung i believe. Didn't restrict him from winning the SM class.

I wish I'd kept some of the pictures I've seen for this thread. I've found the most reliable source of the ugliest, nastiest engine swap pictures to be eBay... people selling their SR-powered cars, probably because they run like *** with no fan or mech. fan with no shroud, bird's nest wiring, vacuum lines all over... They're always, always nasty dinged-up looking red tops with that grease pencil sheit all over, too

When I was shopping for my S13, I gave thought to buying a car that was already swapped, but I'm too much of a perfectionist, I'd never find one that didn't scare me in some way.

What else... oh yeah, they've always got the stock KA radiator action, no heat shield on the ugly rusty stock turbo manifold, some kind of sheisty shiny mushroom-shaped "HKS style" air filter, fuse box just kind of dangling... ooh, or sometimes they cash out for the $250 top mount turbo manifold then don't bother to heat shield the master cylinder reservoir in any way.

Speaking of the master cylinder, who saw that thread on Freshalloy a while back where some dude relocated his master cylinder to the front corner of the engine bay? COMEDY GOLD.

If this describes your engine bay, don't get offended... either thumb your nose at my anal-retentiveness, or fix it!

Yeah, I remember he tried to say he "triangulated" on his PC if his car was in an accident, how the setup was sturdy and it would not get effected.. uh huh..

Firewall = most sturdy part of the car, that is where the MC should be, period.

well, my car is still a work in progress.... i'd LIKE to have everything cleaned up so that when problems come up (and they DO come up) it's easier to debug and fix.
