Q on Kouri Tails.

Sorry if this is in the wrong area, this is my 1st post here.
I just picked up an 89 240 fast back to add to my collection of cars.
i was looking at gettign some kouri tails, but wasnt sure if they fit with the stock center piece for the tails, or if another piece needs to be purchased, it looks like it will be close, but might not fit.

Thanks guys.

let me be the first to you welcome to Zilvia!

the stock center pice will not fit the rps13 tails because on the inner parts of the lamps, they are slanted... as oppossed to the USDM ones which are vertical...most sets come complete.. with the center piece to matc the lock...

PS...
is your friend...

welcome to zilvia.
like s13silady said, it wont fit. if youre looking for a reasonably priced complete set, check out www.nismoparts.com -- it's the cheapest i've found so far. also, it's "kouki" not "kouri" - that might help in your searching .

Can you swap your key core out of your USDM lighs with the kouki ones? Or can you remove it? I've never thought about that.

I read something a while back that the key cores are not swappable. But i think iread something too, that you have have a lock core customized to matched you car's key. dunno maybe someone can clearify it for me or confirm it?

yea, the kouki one sticks out farther. if you were using your USDM one it'd be too far sunken in...wouldnt be able to put the key in. you could probably check with a locksmith to see what they could do with it to make your normal key work.
