for all you alarm junkies

alright so i attempted to install my alarm today its a viper 5901 with remote start..

i used this website right here

1989-90 Nissan 240 SX Alarm, Remote Starter, Keyless Entry Wiring Information

heres the first 12 pin main connector

a couple things i don't get... the input and output confuse me..

first off, the red/white aux trunk output, goes to the red wire (light in trunk) right?

(white/brown) parking light isolation, does that go to parking light (red/blue) wire in my light switch? there is also another "parking light output" (white) wire does that go to the (red/blue) wire on my light switch also?

im assuming ORANGE and BLACK both just get grounded?

and as for "trunk pin instant trigger" is that this thing? if so i just run the blue wire to it right?

just did this on my s13 few weeks ago so im assuming your installing this on s13 too? if so the only wires you need is as follow...

h1/1 not used unless you have trunk popper
h1/2 connect to live power frm battery+
h1/3 to siren red wire
h1/4 not use
h1/5 chassis ground
h1/6 not use
h1/7 red wire on the trunk switch
h1/8 red/white behind driverside kick panel(or any door switches)
h1/9 optional
h1/10 optional
h1/11 red/blue behind driver kick panel
h1/12 not use

that pic is the hood switch as s13 doesnt have em...u can place it anywer u like under the hood just make sure it get pushed when hood is close.

What a coincidence. I just bought this alarm system two days ago and was thinking of doing a How-To for it. Thanks for the link.

Well.. I never got around to doing a write up. I was pressed for time, and I just wanted to get this over with.

I just finished right now, so I'd like to post a few things now before I forget.

This is specifically refering to the Python 991 (or Viper 5702P or whatever the matching model is..) on my 91 S13.

I didn't bother setting up remote start, but I left it there ready for when I stop being lazy.

The H3 (Remote Start) Harness is necessary however, even if you don't care to use remote start. There is only one wire you need to use and that is H3/1 (Pin 1) Pink. This wire needs to tap into the Ignition wire (Black/Red - Harness connector CAR SIDE). This is needed so the alarm can see that you acknowledge any disturbances it has reported to you. Once you put the key in the On position, it will reset the notifications.

Also, the Purple and Green wire from the H3 harness are not needed, but I recommend them. The alarm could be used as a kill switch. You would cut the starter wire going to the starter solenoid. (PLEASE REFER TO THE FSM TO DETERMINE THIS WIRE). The green and purple wires go to the cut starter wire.
So if one were to force entry and attempt to start the car, it should not start because you still have not disactivated the alarm.
(AT LEAST THAT IS WHAT I UNDERSTOOD.... I attempted this, but I was still able to start my car... So, I need to figure out where I went wrong.. I'm just throwing my notes out there for you guys to figure out on your own.)

I pretty much did the same exact thing as above for everything else.

Note. When you see (-), this means tap into the ground wire side. When you see (+), it mean tap into the power wire side.

Here is a link for wiring door lock actuators. http://www.commandocaralarms.com/dow...kactuators.pdf

alright, so i'm having a few problems with my alarm, when i go to lock the car, aren't my lights supposed to flash or something? and also it will say i have a door open when i don't lol

AND when i unlock the car, the blue viper light will still blink, blinks 2 times then stops, then blinks 2 times again, know the reason for this?
