SR20det Crank won't start , new swap

Some of you have probably seen a couple of retarded threads by me but thankfully it is all resolved. Now to the final task, to get the car to actually start up and run. My car is cranking but it won't turn over I left a couple of vacumm hoses untouched because I didn't know where or what to hook in to anyways, There is this blue wire I'm not sure what it is I was wondering if this could be why my car isn't turning over. I've got a couple of photos here for those of you guys who are experienced with the swap as this is my first time ever actually working on a car.

I didn't think the vacumm hose would actually keep my car from starting but anyways I'll point out a couple of things and hopefully one of you will be able to assist me.

************************************RESOLVED****** ********************

my problem was bad ECU!! forgot to update the thread!

2 Hoses above the throttle

Wtf is this blue plug for

anything wrong here?

please ignore the wiring mess I just wired everything up for testing purpose

I did some troubleshooting , noticed the fuel pump does not prime and there is no fuel in the fuel rail. There seems to be a lot of issue with this, Yes I've already spliced and solder the 2 KA plugs onto the SR wire near the fuse box and the battery so I know the black/pink plug lined up correctly I guess I will check and see if theres any votages on it.

is there some kind of a ground of the fuel pump relay ??

It's below the fuse box correct? if so I have that one secured. I've got a question...will the fuel pump still prime with no fuel? or low fuel

I still haven't figured out. I got 4 gallon of fuel to fill in the gas tank just to eliminate the possibility of it being low on gas. I still can't hear the fuel pump prime , I tried to start it anways it just cranks doesn't start.

can any one double check my wiring here

The dash harness, anything missing?

going to the chassie

Hey guys, all the fuses in the engine bay are good even inside the car is good. Ok so I have the hose mixed up? so the one with the filter on it goes to the fuel line on the left and the return is on the right? I'll fix that.

I'm still trying to get the pump to prime my neigbor came to check out my car because he knows I've been working on it. I told him what was going on and he suggested we check the fuel pump to see if we get any voltages. We didn't get readings going to the pump portion, HOWEVER we are getting some voltages from the Filter/floater side of the pump what he did was lifted the floating/filter thing and asked me to check my oil to see if there were readings and indeed there was my fuel gauge was climbing. This got me thinking that there is something with my wiring the black/pink stripe came to mind so we went back to the front of the car where the I spliced the black and pink wire
and we checked for voltages there and we got 11.55 readings from it.

I don't know where else I'm suppose to be looking now my neigbor is smart but he is not famillar with this car and engine he thought it could and issue with the wires from the front of the chassie going to the back where the pump is. I didn't agree with him and explained to him that I've never had any issue starting up the car just a month a go when I still had my KA in and that pump is practically a brand new pump it's a walbro fuel pump, he thought I was working with the same harness and ECU as the KA but I told him no HE suggest I check my wiring but IDK where the heck to start

I'm not very good at this I don't know where to look , and no I did not have any light on my ecu , do you guys have any ideas????

Edit: if this helps at all the chassie harness is SOHC

You should consult a tech though pm then post the progress here. I've seen the fuel lines like Sileighty_85, that's a common mistake. You are going to fry your ecu's fuel pump trace with the 11.55 disconnect that wire now! it should be grounded by the ecu.

turn your ignition on and ground that wire to the chassis (fuel pump relay side) the fuel pump should come on that wire should run to pin 104 on the ecu.
for the rest of the harness i have no clue where to start! So that means I would have you start from scratch. Which guide did you use? Maybe its something simple like main power wires.

I used the fsport.com for the wiring. I'm going to try to follow the wire through the crimp like the other person suggest. I'm sorta confused here so I'm not suppose to get any 11.55 readings for the black/pink wire?

i would say your most likely not getting power to the ecu. in my buddies car there was a plug behind the ecu*edit* passenger kick panel assumeing yours is still there* ( not the main plug in) that wasnt hooked up. check if youre getting spark.

Get rid of those janky ass wire splices for starters. Follow the black/pink wire through the crimps to make sure you don't have a bad splice. Because if you have power at the connector but not at the pump there is either an issue with the wiring itself or the fuel pump relay it goes to. Also the black/pink wire doesn't supply power to the pump, the fuel pump relay does. The black pink wire just actuates the fuel pump relay.

If memory serves me fuel pump circuit goes like this

ecu -> wire to fuel pump relay signal -> pump relay
switched power -> pump fuse -> relay switched -> wire to pump

So either the splices are bad/wrong wires, your fuse is blown, your relay is shot, your wire to pump is damaged, or your ecu doesn't want to turn on your pump.

Your probably going to want to pick up a factory service manual.

Hey, I just looked at the FRSsports guide and on this one I noticed it said

Black / Red / Red stripe Main ignition power

Blue / Red Black

I left the the blue/red out, is it suppose to be spliced together also with the black/red?

yes the thicker one, it is for power to coil packs IIRC.

however, I'm not getting anything on 38 nor 47 ECCS power, idk wtf to do, could it be a bad ground or....

Okay, Thanks guys so here is an update

I took removed pin 104 black /pink and grounded on the the chassie and now the pump is working when I turn the key on , but it doesn't want to stop I can just here it doing it's thing. Now the car doesn't crank all is does is make a motor boat type of sound like "MMMMM" I couldn't get it to start. I just wanted to see what would happen if I remove the black/pink of the chassie and now I can hear the relay clicking when I have it on the on position if I tried to start it , the engine just makes a "MMMM" type of sound and relay starts clicking very fast. You guys have any idea what is going on here?

Come on let's put our heads together..........

No offense, but that's the route I'd go. Seems as if somone else left you a present before purchase.

I dont mean to be nitt-picky but damn you need a wire cleanup/tuck. I would get a wiring specialties harness that way there is no question as to whether your wiring is good or not. I have an upper and lower ws harness...totally worth it

Codyface, man have some faith I'm not spending 300 when I've got a harness right here.

Anyways, Here is an update I thought that if the pump worked by grounding the black/pink cable I would get some kind of reading from 38 and 47 , anyways looking back at the FRSsport the ECCS power is black/white that connects to one of the chassie plug near the battery , there are actually 2 black and white and I only spliced one of them with the matching gauge I'm assuming the other one is the other ECCS power, as well anyways, I checked the Voltage right before it connects to the chassie plug and I get no reading

it was the ecu!
try another ecu then pull the clips off the investors so you don't flood cylinders when your cranking it

OH sweet baby Jesus! I pray to god that I have a fuked up ECU and nothing more I honestly do not mind getting another one. I have a feeling that it maybe jacked up but what bothers me is pin 38 and 47 ( ECCS pwr ) arn't getting any votages reading when I have the key turned on when I check the pins ...so I don't even think the ECU is getting power. When I hooked up the black/white wire ( ECCS pwr) directly to the battery I get 12v reading from both pins 38/47 at the ECU connector so I know that wire is good.

Japslapsilvia is probably going to stop by tomorrow to help me figure out what the hell went wrong
