![]() Alright, I aready tried the search button and came up with nothing on this one... So I was wondering if I can get some help on the weight of an sr20 compared to a ca18et. I figured the ca18 might weigh more from its cast iron block oppose to the aluminum sr20 block, but Im really not shure...
Does anyone know the weight of the motors or know a site that has a weight chart??? Last edited by Crab Walker; 10-15-2003 at 03:51 PM.. |

The SR has a rocker-arm assembly which adds valvetrain mass, while the CA has a direct cam-on-bucket desing, which allows lighter valvetrain, hence the higher revving ability over the SR.

I would imagine the CA is lighter than the SR, but I have seen no #'s on how much the CA weighs, but I know the SR with tranny, turbo, and alternator weighs 493 lbs. (SCC)
But I don't think the SR weighs tons more than the CA, probably an insignificant amount, but who knows, the CA might be heavier than SR. But in my mind the CA owns SR. |
