Rear strut tower bars for S13 fastbacks. I definitely noticed the differnce after I installed mine on my car.

www.phase2motortrend.com sells beefy strut bars for cheap.

when you can get a strut bar for $15 on ebay, i think it's worth the shot. i got one, it fits beautifully, took about 20 minutes to install, and made a noticable difference in turn in crispness.

It's very hard to mess up a strut tower bar. Not saying it hasn't been done, just that it's difficult :P

I bought a set of hella stiff obx R ones, they are thick and beefy, got front and rear for 37 shipped, and I noticed a big diff on the front with my stech and agx installed...
rear not so big of a difference, although my sunroof doesn't creak when I go over bumps at low speeds anymore.

Wow you're the first person i've seen to give an OBX part props. It must be defective, that's why it works.

Okay....what about the Triangle strut bars like this cusco one?

http://www.store.yahoo.com/phase2mot...reartrian.html

and I have seen no name ones for the front on eBay,does it really make a difference,is it worth the extra $$/weight/installation time ?

I saw you ansewered the original question about being able to trust the no names....but what is the cheapest name brand that is good ?

Buy a no-name, hit or miss, you get may get what you pay for. Looking at some of the 35$ strut bars I've see on ebay, some look $hitty w/ weak, skinny bars w/ weak looking ends on them, and as dousan said, some just dont fit right!

I've always bought name brand, proven parts for my cars. Sure I might have overpaid on a few of them, when I could've gotten a cheaper one elsewhere, but I don't mind paying a little extra money to make sure they fit right and are great quality.

There is a loooong thread on FA.com about that Cusco rear triangle bar and how effective it is since the sheet metal in the back where you have to drill through is a bit thin. Should pull it up if you search.

strut bars

Personally with my experiences I have about four or five friends that have purchased the eBay strut bars with mixed results. My front bar was too high and hit the hood. I had to cut out some of the hood support to make it fit which was no biggie because it's weight reduction, right? haha. With everyone I know, the fitment of the rear strut bars has not been a problem. Another one of my friends' front strut bar hit the plastic harness cover near the fuel rail and pushed on the plastic almost hitting the valve cover. Two other friends had bars that fit perfectly with no problems whatsoever. All in all, for the price, they provide a large benefit. After going through five sets, I can definately say they're worth the twelve dollars a piece or whetever they're going for now. I would compare them to a fat prostitute...they're cheap, but they still do they're job. I decided to sell my rear bar to someone else and buy a four-point mount bar instead. It's also a no-name brand off of eBay, but the manufacturer actually has a website as well I believe. It's a CP Racing bar in black. I recieved it yesterday and test fitted it real quick. It looks as if she's going to fit perfectly. The craftmanship is pretty good as well, and the bar seems very solid. All in all, If you're worried about getting a bad one just spend the 12 bucks and sell it or make it work if you get a bad one. They can only be so far off. If you get a good one keep it, and you're golden. The rear bar, from what I know always works. Hope this helps....

i got a pair off of ebay for about $50 shipped. the front one sat a little low and hit the plastic harness cover for the injectors, but nothing a pry bar and a little finesse couldn't fix. i just had to bend the plate ends up a hair and it fit perfectly after that.

the rear one fit excellent right out of the box. quality/design on both is similar to most of the neuspeed bars i've seen around on other vehicles.

i've driven a car with the cusco D bar up front and that car was noticable stiffer in the frontend than my car is with a similar suspension setup, so yes there is a difference in performance for sure. but for $50/pair i can't complain
