What to do about this?
Ok I just bought a s14 se very very clean no rust perfect frame rails and basically all stock, the only think I noticed was this...a square hole cut out where the dead pedal was and the exact same area on the passenger side also.. Why would some one do this? Anyone know if the car is not worth putting money in now? Im very confused as to what this was for or why someone did this? Also is it any concern to the rigidness of the body? Can this be fixed? Thanks
![]() ![]() also in the picture it kind of looks like rust but its goo stuff from the carpet |

Thing is there is no rust anywhere not on the bottom of the floor board, frame rails, wheel wells, nothing, and there is no rust in the pictures it is goo from the carpet, at first I thought he might of cut out rust but both sides (passenger and driver) are the exact same size and spot. The bottom floor pan is still intact and OEM, no sections have been welded in

Could have had a cage in it, maybe?
Check the rear - A simple 6-point might have been welded to bases in those spots. ??? Or the car was used to smuggle drugs...haha. - Brian

Maybe wanted more foot room... isn't there a hump/bracket under the dead pedal?
There's no reason this should stop you from putting money into it, however, it's your decision to make.

Thank you, just making sure the car is structurally sound before I go buying coilovers, wheels, ect. Do I just weld a new piece of metal in there and be done with it? Thanks for all the comments guys |

Not sure why they'd cut both sides, but yea, I'd just weld in a new piece(s) and be done with it.

From the picture I don't see any metal being cut. It just some carpetting and padding being cut. You are one paranoid **********. Just burn the car, it will make you feel a lot better.
