What's this object??

hey all. still workin on the rb20 swap and i just came across an object sitting in the engine bay around where the air intake would normally be. and i dont recognize it so hopefully someone on here knows. i included 2 pics in 2 posts. the first is of the object itself. the 2nd is of the 2 hoses coming off of it that im not sure what they hook up to, if they need to be connected at all. all replies are appreciated, thanks! btw its from an 89 240sx(ka24e motor).

Just looked it up. That is your PAIR solenoid valve. Lot's of people call the PAIR system the AIV. One of the hoses from your PAIR solenoid valve will run to a hose that goes to both the PAIR valve and to your intake. The 2 other hoses run to 2 nipples below your throttle body. All of these hoses are vacuum hoses.

ah ok...thats what i suspected but i wasnt too sure. the aiv is just part of the exhaust system responsible for emitting cleaner fumes, etc. correct? because i removed that a while ago. guess i just forgot to remove this piece. thanks buddy.

Yeah, I'm just finishing my S14 KA swap and I removed all my emissions equipment with the exception of the cat. So far I've got it so I only have one vacuum line running from the FPR to the intake manifold. Way cleaner engine bay.
