AEM Dyno-Shaft
![]() Anyone else interested in this thing? Looks like it would be a great system for people who live out in the boons (like me). AEM lets you hook up your car to a dyno at home with Dyno-Shaft Making the decision for EMS lean more and more away from Nistune and more towards AEM for me... I mean, sure. There are going to be a ton of people who will attempt to tune using this, and screw up royally. They will then proceed to talk about how it ruined their life, screwed their wife, stole their identity and kicked their dog... but for people with some common sense who want to learn how to tune a car without bleeding themselves dry... I want it. |

It's supposed to be pretty accurate and you can use it at YOUR convenience, as well as at the track the datalogging it does is pretty awesome. And the price is pretty reasonable, how can you go wrong?

I think that's probably the biggest thing for me. Just the fact that you have realworld conditions, combined with that accuracy. Providing, of course, that it lives up to expectations.

Very interesting new product
![]() fyi there also a few other ways to get VERY accurate dyno readings based only off AEM logs. (Perfect for doing E tunes when a customer may not have the option of going to a dyno) |

Aaaaand, I'm face-palming hard now, since they don't have any Nissan-friendly applications atm. So this only really works for the LSx guys among us.
Which just means another excuse to go with it, really. |

In the near future I can see vehicles coming equipped with this technology from the factory, making real time OEM adjustments possible.
Then we will be sourcing these from junkyards and retrofitting them to our cars ![]() |

When this technology becomes available for cheap, if combustion engines are still in production, then you will see this as an adequate way to ensure vehicles labeled as having "400 horsepower" are actually producing 400 horsepower because there will be a little LCD screen in the 20xx mustang/camaros that says so. |
