![]() I drive a 1991 Fastback, with a high-powered audio system,860 watts to be exact...700 to my sub,and 40x4 to my speaker system...I was talking to my cousin who has a full drag focus(fully gutted interior,SVT 6spd. trans swap,T5 turbo...etc) and he says that most mechanics will redo an alternator for much more output if you ask them to...he said it was some specific term that you call it,but I can't remeber what It was....Anyway,I'd really really like to have a much more efficient alternator if possible...so if anybody knows anything I'd really appreciate it !
I've googled this, yahoo searched it,and zilvia searched it ! Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!! I really need to firgure something out.... Last edited by Ghettokracker71; 12-31-2003 at 09:53 PM.. |

Yeah you can take the alternator to a shop that rebuilds them....and they can re-wrap the copper wiring with upgraded wire and put new brushes in it. If its your daily driver your best bet is to get a used one off ebay or the forum to take in.
