nx1600 in sohc 240sx?

I've searched every where and it only shows how to di it using a dohc cluster harness. i've wired it up and everything works except for the tach. The tach wire for the nx1600 is blue/black and the wire for the sohc cluster tach is yellow/red. there connected and it still doesn't work. it worked on my sohc cluster

If the nx1600(I know nothing of them) is a dual cam, that's why. Same reason you need to use a tach from a dual cam when you swap to an sr or ka24de.

Is there any way around this because there are people that used a single cam cluster in a dohc with working tach because they wires it straight to the ignition coil
