Accidently used flexplate bolts on flywheel..

I purchased flywheel bolts but for some reason they weren't tightening properly (as I was tightening them they would get tight and then break loose, repeat) so I used the flexplate bolts because they threaded in perfectly, not thinking that it would make a difference reusing them.. but then I found out how much more longer the flywheel bolts are..

I still torque them all down properly to 105ft/lbs

Is it possible to get away with this? I havent had any problems so far..

Thanks.

1. a real concern is the fact that you may have already stripped the holes with the other bolts. When they were "breaking loose", they were probably actually stripping out the threads.

2. You should prob use the correct length bolts if possible. Thats a heavy piece of metal that moves very fast.

Keep in mind if they ever shear off, or come loose, your legs and ankles are in zone... I'd put the right bolts in, then again I like my legs/ankles...

Where is that youtube video where the flywheel exploded and rip through the transmission and into the cabin?

I useD the flex plate bolt when doing my rb swap, I've put 20k on the car in the last three years and lots of 80+ mph 3rd gear clutch kicks with zero issues... My option is I wouldn't stress it as long as they are TQ correctly
