s14 sensor identification help

Thanks for everyones help. The sensor was identified but my problem is beyond that.... so mods please lock this thread.

And the sensor appeared to be inside the intake system.. although the hole looked modified..

it looks like the air temp sensor , but my 96 doesnt have it and it runs fine, not sure what year is yours or if its something OBD2 cars need

yes that's your IAT sensor. it plugs into your stock air box.
your car will run without it plugged in. so if its not running the problem is elsewhere.

yes, the car will run without it, you'll just have a check engine light, 95-96 and 97-98 are different sensors with different connectors, so a 95 air sensor will not fit a 97 connector. just an FYI

Thank you everyone for your help! I replaced it and the car still doesn't run. When I first plugged the sensor in it started fine and was idling fine, I sat in the car and went to rev it up and it began to choke sputter and finally die. Now when I go to start the car it fires a few cylinders but does not idle. The car has spark and fuel so I'm not sure what the problem is... I'm kind of thinking the maf? I took a maf out out of my dads altima (99) and plugged it up but it seemed it didn't help. Is their a way I can check the maf wiring to make sure its not cut anywhere? I really appreciate all your help guys.
