Figured I would make a thread to share some of our recent work we've done for a customer that had a 700hp RB26 requirement. He wanted a show ready motor that could take daily abuse. On with the pictures... ![]() The wide body R33 GTR rolling on VS-XX's that we're building it for: ![]() ![]() We started from an already mildly built long block we had shelved to begin tear down: ![]() ![]() The bottom end will be equipped with the following: OEM R33 Crankshaft - Extended crank collar version CP Pistons - CP Forged RB26DETT Piston Kit - Raw Brokerage - Your #1 source for GTR and RB parts! Carrillo Connecting Rods with 3/8" CARR Rod Bolts - Carrillo PRO-H Beam Rods - RB25/RB26 - Raw Brokerage - Your #1 source for GTR and RB parts! ARP Main Studs - ARP Main Stud Kit - RB20 / RB25 / RB26 / RB30 ACL Rod Bearings - ACL Race Series Rod Bearing Set - RB30 ACL Main Bearings - ACL Race Series Main Bearing Set - RB26DETT ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The RB26 cylinder head was also prepared with goodies: Bronze valve guides Tomei Type-B Valve Springs - Tomei RB26DETT Valve Springs Tomei Type-B Poncams - Tomei RB26DETT Poncams ARP Head Studs - ARP RB26 Head Stud Kit - Raw Brokerage - Your #1 source for GTR and RB parts! ![]() ![]() ![]() A few other modifications including: Tomei Oil Pump, N1 Water Pump, Tomei Timing Belt, Tomei adjustable cam gears, Metal head gasket, etc... we're used to complete the long block assembly: ![]() A race ready 1500hp Ross Tuffbond Harmonic Balancer was fitted to the front as well: Ross Tuffbond Metal Jacket RB26DETT Harmonic Balancer ![]() The oil pan was modified using our extended sump kit for the RB26 oil pans: Raw Brokerage RB26 AWD Enlarged Oil Pan Service - Raw Brokerage - Your #1 source for GTR and RB parts! ![]() ![]() To start dolling up the motor we powder coated the valve covers to match the rest of the engine accents and keep the theme of the car... ![]() Mine's baffles: ![]() Raw Brokerage center plate to top off the coil pack cover: Raw Brokerage RB26 Valve Cover Emblem ![]() Next up... turbo and fuel |

Btw I'm the one building the car for john. I chose RAW for the motor and parts supplier because they have a great reputation and even better products. |

To achieve the power goals desired the route chosen was to ditch the twin turbo setup and go with a single turbo manifold...
Full Race ProStreet Twinscroll Top Mount Response Manifold - Raw Brokerage - Your #1 source for GTR and RB parts! I know you guys are going to ask, "why didn't we use our in-house manifold?" Well simply put we were in on a time crunch and the recent changes to our manifold design wasn't going to allow us to have it ready and tested for delivery. Since we had Full-Race manifolds in stock it was a no brainer ![]() Well we sent the twin scroll manifold to our ceramic coater for some of his handy work... the ceramic coating is to keep the temps down in the engine bay, keep the exhaust heat inside the manifold for better performance, and for that oh so pretty finish ![]() ![]() More fuel was required than the 440cc factory units so we turned to our injector of choice for these types of builds, the Injector Dynamics 2000cc injectors: Injector Dynamics 2000cc Injectors - RB26DETT As well, to get the fuel through the new 11mm injectors a twin feed Tomei fuel rail was an instant match: Tomei Top Feed Fuel Rail - RB26DETT With the machined hats and the precisely made rail.... ![]() and with those goodies installed to the motor... ![]() Assembling the turbo and wastegate pics... ![]() ![]() |
