HELP!!!! Stupid sr20
hey guys i was wondering for some and advise, and yes ive done my research. I have a redtop s13 sr20 going into a s14. i have an t28 turbo a greddy sr20 oil new upper and lower wiring harness from wiring specialites, it is the conversion from from s13 to s14, and much more.
i finally got my engine in two nights ago and had everything grounded correctly and pluged in, except a knock sensor, but that shouldnt have anything to do with not starting. i turned the key and its trying to turn over and it wont my exhaust pops like it wants to but just doesn't want to start. i do have spark, took out a coil pack to test, and i am getting enough fuel into it. doubled checked the grounds and everything seems to be in order but just doesnt wan to start. i do have a viper alarm in it, but i dont think that should cause it not to start cuz if it was on it wouldnt even crank right?? so if you have any advise or input i would greatly appreciate it. |

I'm 99% sure it's the timing trust me on that one I just went through the same thing over the last couple weeks. A big thing is when you are aligning the CAS if it's set on the correct tooth and lined up to the dot it should be right in the middle of the 2 slotted parts to adjust it not all the way to one side. If it's lined up with the dot and in the middle of the slots your CAS is timed correctly.

Most of the time an old CAS won't have those markings on it. Just play around with it, look up the timing FAQ on Jim wolf technology's website or other forum posts to see where the rivet is for timing. There is a rivet going thru it near the left side (front of motor) when it's inserted correctly.
Make sure the engine is at TDC before you work on the timing!

engines are not stupid. YOU are stupid. jk. could be fuel related as well, if not one of these other problems.
