I have a 90 240 hatch.
Ok, when i drive on the freeway and im in 5th, sometimes the car just loses power cant rev the engine nothing but the weird thing is the car doesnt turn off all the electronics works when it happens. I just lose power/ throttle responce ,cant rev engine the rpms just slowly drop down the only way i found out how to stop it is to down shift to 4th gear when it happens than it goes back to normal no idea what could be causing it

However, I have this same problem and it's possibly your MAF going out/needs cleaning.

Thanks i think i figured it out though its called a fuel cut
bad fuel pump i guess

check your TPS.

A failing TPS or even a loose connected one can cause those same problems.

pin point your problem before u start throwing random parts into it hoping it will magically be fixed.

I have pin pointed my problems and i did my research im not throwing any random parts in my car its either the fuel cut problem or the maf is dead. And it's not my tps because i changed it a few weeks ago and it still happened before/after i changed it
