how to test a coil pack

i have a redtop sr20det and i was driving my car the other day and my friend told me that it sounded like my car was running on 3 cylinders. so i pulled my plugs and found out that one of the cylinders is not working the spark plug look brand new. i smelled it and it had some gas on it so i think that in not get a spark. so my ? is how do you test a coil pack. also could my igniton chip be causing is problem.

chit I wish the search on FA was working... Planb (not the newb from miami) posted the page from the FSM. basically you need a multimeter but I forgot which of the three pins to test.... lemme look around see if I saved it/printed it.. or download the FSM for the S14 and look in the electrical. the procedure is in there. coilpacks are the same so there ya go

Coil is easy to check

You want to disconnect the coil from the hanress. Check resistance between terminal 1 and terminal 2, you should have 1 ohm of resistance.
