I'm not sure if there is a way for SOHC's to disable the speed limiter. At least, it isn't documented. For info on the DOHC speed limit cut check
http://www.240sx.org ,
it's in the FAQ.
Maybe you can see if your ECU has the same wire color/stripe and position. If it doesn't have both, I wouldn't mess with it.

The other way to get rid of it would be the Apexi Rev/Speed meter. At least I've heard it intercepts the speed signal and disables the governor by "tricking" the ecu.

I cut that wire on the ecu and now instead of the engine just quitting at 5100rpm (5th gear) it starts vibrating violently (rev limiter) at 5200rpm. I does the same in fourth gear (different rpm limiter--6300? forgot). So I probably gained a whole 3 mph top speed from doing this. Where is that backup limiter? And how are you (240booster) hitting 125?

welll urs is an s13 so maybe a little different than my s14 but im hitting the same 5th gear rev limiter ur talking about at about 5500 rpm i think and my speedo only goes to 120 so im guestimating im topping out at about 125 now .... there is a FAQ at 240sx.org about that 5th gear rev limiter u have to disconnect some plug at the tranny i think and something else check it out ... then the sky should be the limit .... lol untill u blow ur motor :-P
