rich then not
ok I'm going insane with this car I've had it for 4 months and done nothing but work on it!! ( Never buying another Sr) lol. ok so anyways its a 240 with s15 Sr and it will run awesome one day wideband readings are good then next day wideband readings are all over the place from 10.0-15.0 back and forth back and forth.... I had my bov vented to air but then recirct it then it seemed to run pretty good for a couple days then today I tried turning my boost up and it didn't go over 5-6 psi and the wideband readings were insane again I've messed with fuel pressure and cleaned my maf... any ideas what the issue may be? my fuel pump has been acting funny and I also have a fuel cell and a Jim Wolfe tune with normal bolt ons.

What brand wide band? How old?
How many miles on the o2 sensor? Who installed the wideband unit and o2 sensor? How far from the turbo is the o2 sensor? How many exhaust leaks do you have?

Check the ecu for codes?
You should also check the battery voltage when this happens. Are there any other symptoms other than the wideband going rich then lean, when you get into boost? like bucking breaking up, brapp brapp brapp sound, anything? Check the sensor with brake cleaner and a rag. look it up it's a real thing!

I'm not sure I fully understand the situation- you keep changing the boost settings and fuel pressures and keep seeing changes in afr's?
I would just leave eveything where its at and see if it runs consistent afr's. Then if it still doesn't you could try the sensor test for the wideband sensor; aem used to have a vid online on how to do it. . |

Sounds like ur getting false readings (bad 02, gage, wiring, etc). If my car was running perfect and it was getting crazy afr's then that's what I would check/replace first.

Take it to a shop and get it tuned or have them figure it out?
I usually would rather trust the shop to due to tune for me. The good tuners usually help me explain what went wrong and what adjustments are needed as they have far better experience and tools in adjustments. |
