Will I need a tune after building my head ?!

So I'm planning on building my top end. I'm just wondering if I'll need to tune my car after I install all my parts ( listed below ) running the stock T25 (Blacktop SR by the way ). I am going to upgrade to a gt2871 in the future but wanna know if i can run a built head in the mean time without a tune ?

Parts being installed:
- Tomei step 1 256 camshaft
- Tomei adjustable cam gears
- Tomei RAS
- Brian Crower valvesprings & Titanium retainers
- Supertech Valves
- Supertech valve seals

If you are not going over-sized on the valves and the cam gears are set correctly, and a correctly sized head gasket is used? Then NO!
That's not really a built head now is it?

You can, but different cam profiles will change the air/fuel ratio at wide open throttle. You will want to tune the AFR and ignition timing to maximize the power you can get out of the head.

I would install the stuff you have now, get a 2871R/supporting fuel & software and get it tuned then, since at that point you will need to be compensating for larger injectors and so on.

I'm not going with oversized valves. What size gasket would you recommend with my setup?

Yeah, thats what I'm planning on doing, or just get everything plus supporting mods ( injectors, maf, electronics, etc ) then put it all at once and tune.

You don't buy head gaskets based on recommendations, you by them according to the machine work that has been done. If no decking or over bore has been done than a stock sized head gasket will do.
Poncams are drop in and with the t25 no need for a retune.
